Survival Skills: Make fire by hand

This is a very useful skill that everyone should learn, it is very easy once you know how to do it, and it could save you one day!

Anyone tried out making fire themselveS?

I watched to to see which technique he was going to use.

Ummm.... Dude uses a LIGHTER?

I was looking for - Binary chemicals, Friction,Battery & Steel Wool, Magnifying Glass, Coke Can Reflector... Etc

He does indeed give a nice dissertation on how to build the basics of a fire, However I would add that you go ahead and build your bigger tinder around it. Just make sure you allow for air to reach the center and feed the fire as it goes.

I can't watch till later but I carry a FireSteel on my belt at all times.....

Yeah... Never really mastered that. Done it once or twice... Tried probably 10-12 times. I think it's a lot of work when there are so many other ways to make fire without a match or lighter.

the bow technique is pretty good when you get used to it and it you don't manage to make a fire your first few attempts you will be warm from the work out lol

and rubber burns even when wet so can make good tinder

You can also make a fire using an orange and a stick. It's true.

It's a joke. I made a prank post awhile back with a fake ass video of a guy lighting a fire using a stick and an orange.

The worst survival video I've ever seen. Dude makes a fire with a lighter. Serious skills there.

fair enough but believe me dried orange peel if you had enough of it can actually be used to light a fire. easier with the bow technique or even easier with a lighter but I can honestly say it can be done.
