Day 2.

the prophecies I am captivated by typically focus on two popes.

The first Pope is the "persecuted" Pope. (He witnesses the revolution/invasion and flees for his life)
The second Pope is the successor that guides the boat directly into or almost into the period of peace.

If Pope Benedict XVI passed away instead of resigning, it would have been clear by now that he was not yet the persecuted Pope mentioned in prophecy.

It makes a huge difference toward recognizing the truth when TSHTF whether Pope Francis is the first Pope or the second Pope according to prophecy.

The true identity of the persecuted Pope, makes all the difference on how people would perceive the Pope that succeeds Pope Francis.

Let us examine a completely obscured detail of the La Salette Secret shall we.

Within the two Secrets of La Salette written in 1851 (one by Maximin Giraud and one by Melanie Mathieu), the secrets contain the word "Pope"("Pape") a total of three times:

1. "Then, after [that], our Holy Father the Pope will be persecuted." ("Puis, après [cela], notre Saint-Père le pape sera persecuté.")
2. "The pope will be persecuted from all sides" ("Le pape sera persecuté de toutes parts")
3. "I pray to Our Holy Father the Pope to give me his holy blessing." ("Je prie Notre Saint Père le Pape de me donner sa sainte bénédiction.")

So when the Mother Mary wishes to speak of the Pope, she stated clearly the word Pope(Pape)

HOWEVER, in the translation of these secrets we find the world "pontiff" used once.

As it happens to be, despite the perception, the word "Pontiff" is not the same as the word Pope. A Pope is a Pope but a pontiff refers to a Bishop as well as a Pope:

[link to www.catholicreference.net]
"pontiff - High priest, and therefore any bishop, as successor of the Apostles. Now reserved as the title of the Pope."

[link to www.thefreedictionary.com]
"pon·tiff
a. The pope.
b. A bishop."

[link to en.wikipedia.org]
"Pontiff - The term "pontiff" was later applied to any high or chief priest and, in Christian ecclesiastical usage, to a bishop and more particularly to the Bishop of Rome, the Pope or 'Roman Pontiff'"

Therefore, the La Salette prophecy actually states two possible messages here:

1. "our Holy Father the Pope will be persecuted. His successor will be a POPE(pontiff) that nobody expects."

2. -OR- "His successor will be a BISHOP that nobody expects."

What is really amazing is that when pretty much everybody is thinking in terms of that successor Pope from these prophecies as being precisely a future "Pope" at the time of the initial fulfillment, Our lady of Fatima gives a vision to three uneducated children about not a Pope but instead of a "Bishop dressed in white".

Everyone, INCLUDING MYSELF, jumped to the obvious assumption that the "Bishop" wasn't really a Bishop in the vision. Yet it seems that a Bishop in a prophecy can indeed be a Bishop.

Whether his prophecy was true or not, I owe this perceptual shift regarding the "pontiff that nobody expects", on the words by "Duke Puntalangit." It took me about 22 months from reading his alleged "prophecy"(which was: "A bishop he shall be when crowned and shall ascend, an ordinary coming from the bottom")...I repeat 22 months of knowing and thinking about Duke's prophecy....until I actually checked the meaning of the word pontiff and realized the La Salette secret could actually refer to a prophecy about a Bishop. An interpretation astonishingly bolstered by the vision of Fatima.

Why is this future Pope only a "Bishop" at the time?

It would probably be due to the sequence of events starting with the First Pope being ousted from Rome, followed by the persecution that has a stranglehold over most of the Cardinals of the Church (consider imprisonment, death, and schism involving the Cardinals)(Bishop against Bishop, Cardinal against Cardinal). And when this first persecuted Pope dies, the underground true Church finds it impossible for a Pope to be canonically elected.

After the physical fleeing of the first Pope from Vatican City as a result of the soldiers/rebellion/governments the secular world/Italian government/Russians/or less likely the Muslims or some combination of them, shall install their own illegitimate modern anti-Pope inside the Vatican walls.

After Pope Francis(if indeed it is he) was exiled and the Vatican is conquered by force, and immediately after Pope Francis died....if it was impossible for a new Pope to be elected because of the persecution, would the Catholic Church remain without a head?

I indeed accept some of the prophecies that speak of anti-Popes and of a "bad priest" that inflicts great damage upon the Church regarding this entire period.

If Pope Benedict XVI did not remove himself from the picture and let someone else take his place legitimately, perhaps due to prophetic considerations regarding his successor, it could have been that God might have raised soon by miraculous means in front of the whole world some person or several to be Bishops (not a Pope), that Pope Benedect XVI himself would have made that person a Bishop after the events transpired and that this Bishop would have been very obedient to Pope Benedict XVI. Pope Benedict XVI did not stick around to wait for that possible outcome.

On the flip side I was brutally aware of a prophecy that made it extremely difficult to discern whether such a Bishop that rises up to the Popes feet is a Fatima Bishop or whether such a person would have been a critical tool of Satan.

...I was absolutely and acutely aware of both possible realities.

Personally, I believe this obscure interpretation of a future "Bishop in white" is the correct interpretation.

Also I believe the following prophecy about the Bishop of Rome taking a second name refers to the "Bishop" in the Fatima Secret receiving his papal name as the 2nd name.

from Monaco Basilio of Kronstadt (St Petersburg, 1700): "When the bishop of Rome will take two names an empire will be about to collapse: one of blasphemy. But it would be folly to exult with joy, because it is not the end but the beginning of sorrows." ("Quando il vescovo di Roma assumerà due nomi un impero sarà prossimo a crollare: quello della bestemmia. Ma sarebbe follia esultare di gioia, perché non sarà la fine ma l'inizio dei dolori")

In the marrow of my bones, I sense that his second name will be the name Pope Fatima. A name that serves as a divine function that glorifies Our Lady of Fatima and all her warnings to the world.
