The Mysterious Case of Christopher Marks

Vintner Found Dead One Month Ago, but Authorities Still Don't Know Why

Thursday, October 18, 2012
By Tyler Hayden (Contact), Matt Kettmann (Contact)

It’s been one month since the body of Christopher Marks was found on the beach below Shoreline Park, but authorities are still puzzled as to what circumstances led to the death of the 60-year-old Santa Barbara County vintner and investment advisor.

The Santa Barbara Police Department and the FBI called in to conduct an extensive underwater search on October 3; will only confirm that the death was suspicious, which points to either homicide or suicide, and that the specific cause was blunt force trauma to the head, which is what the family has been told. Meanwhile, others with knowledge of the case have told The Santa Barbara Independent that Marks was shot in the back of the head, but authorities have not yet verified that claim.

The cliffs there are insanely steep, he could easily have fallen by accident. There are rudimentary fences but they are not well marked, not a great place to take your child.

Also the beach below has an occasional nude element which although illegal until dusk has not stopped many from indulging. I think it might also be a gay hang.

But an accidental death there is probable and possible, and Santa Barabara police are notoriously fallible.

Those cliffs are safe. The cliffs have fencing that's just fine with amazing views of the city, harbor, coast and the Channel Islands. The cliffs people fall off of are up the coast at UCSB. Always some drunk student every year. At Shoreline park there's always a lot of kids, families, dogs, runners, all kinds of party's and celebrations there. All year, almost every day. In all my years living (3 years at school, then came back and owned a business in SB for about 12 years) and I can't remember a single person falling from the Shoreline Park cliffs. Not to say it didn't happen though.

The "nude beaches" (I only ever remember hearing about one "gay beach") are down the coast (none of them officially "legal" at any time. Just not paid attention to by the authorities), by Rincon just south of Carpinteria, about 12 miles down the coast from SB. The other nude beaches (family style) are north towards Goleta about 12 to 15 miles. There's a small one by Summerland, just south of Montecito. Rob Lowe, Kevin Costner, one of the beach boys, Reagans friends, Bill Clinton's friends and more all have houses there. I got myself ordained and married a couple on Summerland beach at sunset one day.

The Santa Barbara Independent is a much better news source than the SB News Press (News "de"Press). I'm good friends with a detective on the PD there, plus a SWAT team member and K-9 officers with the Highway Patrol, Sheriff's Dept and PD. (I work with their dogs). There's definitely some slugs on all the different LEO agency's, just like anywhere else. And a lot of pretty square, good guys too.

The fencing is fine at the park. If he fell he was either drunk or got pushed or thrown. There's a lot of contention between renters and landlords/property investors in SB. The banks suck ASS too. Maybe someone living in a converted garage for $1,800 a month got a rent increase and didn't like it.

He even shot himself in the head twice just to make sure he was dead.

Check out if there is a connection between his company and wine to hotels during the last Bilderberg meeting.

I was shown that the hotels were given cases of wine in return for their assistance to keep and discourage people from staying in area to join the protest. Maybe this is part of the payment, maybe they did not have the money to pay him, or maybe he decided that it was not something he was into.

I wouldn't think "Christopher" is a particularly Jewish name, what with the Christ right in there.

My brother is fraternity brothers with this guy's son.

They thought it was suspicious from Day 1.

The guy was happy, enjoyed life, and loved his family.

No one had any reason to believe anything would happen to him.

Why are they even bothering to investigate this trash.

He was an "Investment Banker".

They don't trouble themselves too much when other Cartel Criminals are found dead.

The creep knew what business he was in, and paid the ultimate price, end of story.
