UK Temperatures could plunge to below zero and bring snow in coming weeks...
Temperatures are set to nudged a record breaking 21C from the start of next week as Britain enjoys an Indian summer - but forecasters have warned not to get used to it.

The brief spell of unseasonable warmth could precede a polar plunge, bringing England’s first snow of winter by Friday, according to Meteorologists.

This year is already Britain’s 'strangest-ever' for weather, the Centre for Ecology & Hydrology said, with the worst drought since 1976 followed by the wettest summer for a century.

But the erratic climate has a few more surprised in store in the coming days, delivering a taste of three seasons in a week - as a golden autumnal weekend is being followed by summer and winter snaps

im not saying that i believe everything that the weather man says....but thought id put it out there so that those that want to can prepare...just in case....

seems abit earlier than i was expecting....but i did just go out and re- stock up the tins in the cupboard this weekend as its starting to get colder and i dont want to be caught out if the weather turns quickly.....

iv been predicting a cold winter this year for months....i think alot of people are not taking the weather as seriously as they should just because we had a mild winter last year.....

Hard to say what the winter will bring this year. Last year was mild to the point of no winter to speak of.

But as we know all too well the two before were horrid.

It is the run up to Halloween and Britain is in for some wacky weather, with warm temperatures giving way to 'blood rain' and even the chance of some snow as temperatures plunge by as much as 10 degrees in less than a week.

And if the rain clears, stargazers will be treated to a meteor shower on Monday just before dawn, with the debris from Halley's Comet sending a cascade of shooting stars across the night sky.....

It is really odd and the leaves are only just starting to change.

In many ways it feels more like the last week of September.
We used to get bad frosts all through October with snow in November.

"a mild winter last year"

I ski'd on the roads that got closed rockon

I've never seen snow and ground freeze like it in all my years in the UK. Its usually just generally cold, even more so with wind chill.

Norway have it right. I'd love to spend a year there

Looking forward to this winter

I left the UK in 2000 for sunny old BC, Canada, and pretty much every British summer has been a wash out since then. Meanwhile, here in BC the weather has been warm and sunny. This year we had no rain to speak of from June until October this month. Perhaps the pole shift, moving away from N America towards Russia, is moving all the weather patterns along with it........??
If y'all don't like the British weather..........move ;-)

Ah. Fahrenheit, i remember fahrenheit.

Back in the days before our natural man made measurements were usurped by the metrification fascists.

Well, you can stick your metres and kilometre and grammey thingys up yer khyber.

I'll keep my pounds, ounces, inches and and and fahrenheit too, err, if that's OK with you.

Besides, 76 degrees sounds sooooooo much warmer than that other crap.....doesn't it?

our country as a whole is unprepared...i sometimes think it would be a whole lot easier to prep if i lived in the USA or something like that...

so what do you guys do??...keeping in mind that alot of us dont have things like wood burners etc....i just think it would be nice to share ideas....
