Never seen that deck.. But that is Keph-Ra which was also prominent in the Moon card (the 11th card of the simpler spread.)

EZ here. I had my tarot done before my first wedding. The reader spread the cards, looked at them, and asked if she could do another one. That marriage was a disaster! I am very interested in what you see for this one. I don't mean to be greedy but...Please. thanks AR

My opinion: Because it is a large egregore that many people are part of, so it would be easy to "connect" to it. And then a basic symbolic "description" of it, or it's basic "mental blueprint" is received. This is just a theory.

I've done a few readings on skeptics that just come in and say "This is B.S.!" or "fraud!" and there is nothing but their anonymous post, and it matches up pretty well, usually with them being The Fool (the most superficial meaning of the card) or something interfering or futile.

The Bartender events a few days ago were interesting. He was represented in a detailed reading for someone else (which he was kind of interrupting) and it reflected him and showed exactly what was he doing, in her reading.

There is more than one dimension to the reading. It has a small "story" by jumping cards via counting, and then the same story in more detail by pairing. That would all be impossible with "random" shuffled cards.

Tis done!

This is an in-depth reading, much like the one that had Bartender in it.

Lets get started, shall we? :)

Full 78-card Elemental Operation (with counting and pairing) for BRIEF, Performed 11/02/2012, ~1:11pm Pacific.

All 78 cards were shuffled and cut into piles representing Fire, Water, Air, and Earth. I had previously selected the Prince of Wands to represent BRIEF. I took the card out and focused on it, as well as BRIEF's profile page. (I hope this was not a read for Yosemite Sam, he was distracting ;) lol

I shuffled quite a bit and then inserted the card back in, and continued shuffling the cards until I felt done. Quickly cut the four stacks and turned them over to reveal a basic gist of the situation.

The Elements: (Overall Situation)

Fire: (Will & Doing)
8 of Cups (Indolence)
"Laziness and not caring. Giving up?"

Water: (Emotions)
4 of Disks (Power)
"Stability and power, structure, foundation."

Air: (Logic and Hopes/Fears)
9 of Cups (Happiness)
"Happiness, joy, ..duh.."

Earth: (Physical Matters)
The Moon (XVIII)
"Illusions, and the fear of making a first step."
{Are some of these qualities illusory? Is there a fear of making a step, a change, or doing something?}

These top cards add up to 39, which reduces to 12 and 3. The Hanged Man (XII). So is he feeling strung up, or helpless?
Let's find out:

First, the quintessence relating to these top cards might help:

12/3: "The matter has become bogged down. It will only blossom after a fundamental reversal or a new evaluation (The Hanged Man) and grow in a lively way (The Empress)."

I ended up finding his card in the Fire stack, which has Indolence as the first card. This can basically represent a slight bit of laziness, or not caring about doing, or rather maybe not doing something.. Lets look some more, as the card was in here, so that is where we do our counting and pairing.
This work gives a general story via counting, and wraps it up in more detail with pairing, essentially closing the spread up along multiple dimensions.

Cards marked with a "*" are reversed / upside-down, and the card counting numbers are on the left. I will underline the cards that are reached during the count (starting with the Significator, the Prince of Wands):

The Spread: (Fire)

08 8 of Cups (Indolence)
10 10 of Wands (Oppression) *
12 The Chariot (VII) *
03 3 of Swords (Sorrow) *
10 10 of Disks (Wealth)
05 5 of Cups (Disappointment) *
06 6 of Wands (Victory)
04 Queen of Cups *
10 10 of Cups (Satiety) *
03 The Fool (0) *
12 Death (XIII)
11 Ace of Cups *
04 Prince of Wands [counts up]
09 The Sun (XIX)
11 Ace of Disks
09 9 of Disks (Gain) *
02 2 of Swords (Peace)
03 The Hanged Man (XII)
09 The Priestess (II)

There are 19 cards, which is 1+9=10 (1), Fortune (X) and The Magus (I).
This is generally relating to having to recognize a task in life, and to understand karmic cycles, etc. A very big card about 'cycles.' "What goes around, comes around" kind of stuff.

There are 2 Aces and 3 Tens in here. Lets see what those mean:

2 Aces:
"Change in work, property move."

3 Tens:
"Buying, selling, commerce."

Continuing, we note the order that the cards are reached via the counting:

The Count:

0.) Prince of Wands
1.) The Fool (0)
2.) Queen of Cups
3.) 10 of Disks (Wealth)
4.) Ace of Disks
#.) 10 of Disks (Wealth)

We stop on the Wealth card again, so this wants to reinforce to me that this is something about money, and something that is being done (or not being done, because of Indolence on the top of the stack.)

To formulate a small "story" (this will be expanded upon in the next step) we simply look at each card that is counted to.

The Story: (Short)

"He starts it." (Prince of Wands)
"He appears to be potentially foolish, or in a state of folly, but to whom?" (The Fool)
"A caring woman enters the picture." (Queen of Cups)
"The issue appears to be about material wealth. It could be affecting the woman." (10 of Disks)
"It seems to affect their entire world, or all physical matters, therein." (Ace of Disks)

So now we find the Prince, and pair the cards left and right, and use elemental dignities to find out the strength of the cards.

The Pairing: (Long)

[W] Ace of Cups *
[F] The Sun (XIX)
{This pair essentially cancels out.}

[W] Death (XIII)
[E] Ace of Disks
"There is a radical change, possibly unexpected, or unwelcome. A change of circumstance, or a new beginning. It seems to have something to do with physical matters, and a good deal of them, possibly affecting nearly all aspects of daily life."

[A] The Fool (0) *
[E] 9 of Disks (Gain) *
{This pair essentially cancels out.}

[W] 10 of Cups (Satiety) *
[A] 2 of Swords (Peace)
"He sees himself at Peace, and is content, or Satiated emotionally, here. Is the core of the issue being ignored, or glossed over?"
{The issue here could be a lack of using this 2 of Swords through the 10 of Cups properly, kind of like missing or passing up on an opportunity. Stifled emotions?}

[W] Queen of Cups *
[W] The Hanged Man (XII)
"But the woman feels out of control, she feels possibly "strung up" or helpless."
{This pair features very strongly.}

[F] 6 of Wands (Victory)
[W] The Priestess (II)
{This pair essentially cancels out.}

[W] 5 of Cups (Disappointment) *
[W] 8 of Cups (Indolence)
"There is Disappointment. It is as if he doesn't care, or is lazy, Indolent? This seems to be affecting the woman."
{This pair features very strongly.}

[E] 10 of Disks (Wealth)
[F] 10 of Wands (Oppression) *
"This issue with Wealth is more Oppressing now."

[W] The Chariot (VII) *
[A] 3 of Swords (Sorrow) *
"There is Sorrow, and the matter cannot proceed. A blockage. What is it, and what needs to be done?"

The sum of all of these cards is 118, which again adds to 10/1: Fortune (X) and The Magus (I). There is more about this later. It is potentially uplifting.

So, in a nutshell, we have an act of doing, or something done (or not done), with a hint of laziness, or not caring. The matter appears to be about money or wealth, and there seems to be a woman who is affected by it, and there is lingering sorrow, and a sort of inability to move forward. The matter may be stuck without some work.

The Fortune card shows up here twice via the total number of cards and the final sum of pairs. It is often (as I said earlier) about cycles, and the understanding of them. I would actually say that this card is the most important one here. and the message attributed to the quintessence as it is here, 10/1 follows:

10/1: "Recognize a portion of your task in life in the theme of the question. The time has come to dedicate yourself to this matter (Fortune). You now have the strength and skill to master the related tasks (The Magus)."
-Keywords for the Crowley Tarot, p.29

Overall, a very positive message at the end, and only he would know what this refers to, and what needs to be done. It can be done, probably easily, but look at Fortune card, The Moon, Indolence, and The Chariot to properly understand, and proceed.

I will leave a few useful quotes, and also direct links for quick study:

8 of Cups (Indolence):

"Nevertheless, happy or not, the call must be heard to leave the bogs of numbness, and the Eight of Cups tells us to abandon the past, leave the current situation, make up our minds most honestly and open our eyes to upcoming changes."

Temporary success, but without further result, things thrown aside as soon as gained, nothing of lasting value, journey from place to place, searching for riches..

(Look at how well that top card fits the small and long "stories" of the count and pairing.)

Special Cards:

These are the cards that cannot be reached by any other, so they have special function within this spread. they can represent outside influences regarding the matter, or other things.

3 of Swords (Sorrow)
6 of Wands (Victory)
10 of Cups (Satiety)
Prince of Wands
2 of Swords (Peace)
The Hanged Man (XII)

The sum of these cards is 33, which reduces to The Lovers (VI). I will add a link to that card as well, since it is a good card to understand for partnership, so it won't hurt to investigate that card in detail.

I won't go into detail about these cards or their special function, especially since this reading was not asked for, and will likely be ignored anyway.

Now, will he read this? Would he deny it, even if it was true? I would be a little surprised if this was a total miss, though this could be something a bit into the past, or even something int he near future to keep a mindful eye on. Anything that is forecast for the near future is likely avoidable, as long as you have the proper mindset and do the proper things in the given situation(s).

This was a very extensive spread, and very time-consuming. But good practice. :)
I rarely have the time to do readings of this depth and magnitude..
Though I wish I could dedicate myself to it.

I just now got info on your reading of me...I enjoyed it, but not so sure on the accuracy...it's so vague as to mean anything really...wealth, laziness, bogged down, well that covers a lot of territory...I would be interested to hear more...on forum or otherwise :)

Hi:)

If it was a miss, then it was deflected right back at yours truly, and aspects of my awful financial situation:)

Now that you are here I can have something better to focus on and try a simpler one for starters. (may be busy tonight though)

Right on brief! This is by far not coincidental or vague. This is Divination.

Just the fact that you're not a skeptic to this brings you into a new light for me.

You have gained my respect (not that that should mean anything).
