because the Yen is considered a "safe haven" currency, it keeps getting bids despite the BOJ's attempts to weaken it

Japan is an export based economy...they want a weak yen

It is for the Japanese. A weak Yen encourages exports, which increases domestic demand for production, but equally it reduces Japanese domestic buying power and erodes the value of savings. The Japanese government is promoting exports and internatially-driven growth at the expense of domestic stability and growth. They're aiming for a trade-off, hoping that the increase in international trade will boost the economy enough before the domestic hit occurs for the economy to witness an overall increase.

Problem is, it won't happen. On the plus side we can expect the PS4 to be reasonably priced :D

The Yen will crash, then the Eruo - the dollar will soar (for a while - as big money seeks a safe haven from the declining Yen/Euro) then its time will come as well.
