DOD blocking questionnaire on Benghazi attack from Chairman of House Armed Services Committee

The Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, Buck McKeon, sent a yes/no questionnaire to commanders in our military to find out if they gave any advice or warning to the State Department over security in Benghazi.

Though he gave them 24 hours to respond, the DOD responded by saying they wouldn’t be able to comply.

There was an op ed that came out that suggested she did it as a political move to benefit herself in the long run.

It said that bearing the responsibility for the attack would make her look more "presidential" in the public's eye.

After things shake out in a few months and investigations reveal that she was not directly to blame, she could come out looking pretty good.

CBS News's Bob Schieffer, who will moderate Monday's foreign policy debate, announced last week that China will be one of topics he will have President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney address.

China is a particularly timely topic, given that a recent Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report that found Obama's campaign website may be vulnerable to foreign donations--and deliberately so.

In addition, there have been recent reports that the Chinese government may be actively spying on nearly every American industry.

That makes China's potential for exploiting loopholes in U.S. campaign laws to influence elections and undermine America's sovereignty a topic of foremost concern.

OBAMA BAGGED OVER $2 MILLION IN INVALID DONATIONS FOR SEPTEMBER

In September, the Obama campaign collected $2,199,204.38 in donations with non-existent or invalid ZIP codes. The Romney campaign’s September total: just $29,620.

The revelation comes from a Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report to be issued tomorrow that combed the Federal Election Commission (FEC) data to determine the effectiveness of each campaign’s donation security system.

U.S. Drone Watched Libya Attack Unfold But Washington Did Nothing

The United States had an unmanned Predator drone over its consulate in Benghazi during the attack that slaughtered four Americans — which should have led to a quicker military response, it was revealed yesterday.

“They stood, and they watched, and our people died,” former CIA commander Gary Berntsen told CBS News.

Fighter jets and Specter AC-130 gunships — which could have been used to help disperse the bloodthirsty mob — were stationed at three nearby bases but no order was given to attack.

i think romney will have the slight edge over obama. the results will be 55% romney and 45% obama. but if romney capitalizes on his chances eg. iran and china trade issues, it could look very much like the first debate outcome.

also, from experiences, if romney or obama wins this debate. how much of an effect will it have on the swing states eg. ohio and florida and others.

so, for the gallup likely voters poll: currently its 52% romney > obama 45%

On paper, President Obama should hold an edge in a debate focused on foreign policy. He can boast of giving the order for American Special Forces to carry out the operation in Pakistan that killed Osama bin Laden.

He brought combat troops out of Iraq, ending the war that had played such a pivotal role in the two previous presidential elections.

President Obama surged troops into Afghanistan, where as a candidate in 2008 he said more focus should have been in the first place during the years after 9/11.

But he has set a timetable for withdrawing American troops from that country.

While Romney has strongly criticized the timetable for being public, he has not made Afghanistan a main topic on the campaign trail and aides have said he would try to stick to a similar schedule for withdrawing American troops.

He needs to really focus on Benghazi. I am sure Obama will try and redirect the topic. Romney need to keep hammering on it.

Obama campaign accepted foreign Web donation -- and may be hiding more

The Obama re-election campaign has accepted at least one foreign donation in violation of the law — and does nothing to check on the provenance of millions of dollars in other contributions, a watchdog group alleges.

Chris Walker, a British citizen who lives outside London, told The Post he was able to make two $5 donations to President Obama’s campaign this month through its Web site while a similar attempt to give Mitt Romney cash was rejected. It is illegal to knowingly solicit or accept money from foreign citizens.

Walker said he used his actual street address in England but entered Arkansas as his state with the Schenectady, NY, ZIP code of 12345.

“When I did Romney’s, the payment got rejected on the grounds that the address on the card did not match the address that I entered,” he said. “Romney’s Web site wanted the code from the back of card. Barack Obama’s didn’t.”
