Sanctioned from new United States contracts due to its catastrophic crime in the Gulf of Mexico, with Coast Guard approval, BP announced plans to further "investigate" the still-spewing oil at its wrecked Macondo Well and seafloor in that vicinity 50 miles off Louisiana's coast and, according to a Wings of Care flyover video and photos released Sunday, the company has a new drilling platform almost directly over that area.

"Since our November 9th flyover of the Deepwater Horizon wellhead and our publishing of the large surface oil slick there, BP has announced plans to begin further investigation of the wreckage and seafloor in that area, beginning tomorrow, December 3," reports Wings of Care's founding director Bonny Schumaker.

Boudreaux and Texas Brine officials have noted that the rate of gas flow from vent wells has declined since flaring began.

Sonny Cranch, spokesman for Houston-based Texas Brine, said there is an indication the gas flow is diminishing but noted, as Boudreaux did, that water in the vent wells or other restrictions might be limiting the flow.

However, the reduced vent well flow may not necessarily reflect a reduction of gas volume in the aquifer, he cautioned.

“It could be a diminishing amount of natural gas, but it also could be the restricted flow issue,” Cranch said.

Yikes! I heard those booms last night, too. They were kind of muffled here, but were definitely booms. I'm about 50 miles from the area so I didn't feel the shaking.
