Update: Dangerous Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Detected, Seismic Activity Picking UP Okay... Quoting: Ant Storm 10117621 I am from Louisiana. I have since moved, but I still live on the Gulf Coast...well within the 500 mile radius of potential 'doom.' I have been 'lurking' on ALL of the threads pertaining to this catastrophe, because I have extended family in the area, who I am watching out for, as well as myself and my immediate family (who could be in danger should the unthinkable occur). I will admit that I did post a reply to the 'bunker' explosion, where I said that it was a munitions bunker explosion, citing the local news source. I am rethinking that position! Anyway... If anyone is interested in the geological make-up of this part of La. I have some info that is quite interesting. There are fault lines ALL across southern Louisiana. There is also subsidence to factor in. The subsidence is minimal, however, it IS much more than they had previously thought. This was covered in one of the threads, with a link to how New Orleans is sinking faster than scientists and geologists previously thought. If anyone wants to read this, it is well worth the time. This is FULL of invaluable information on how salt domes are formed, on how the faults run in the state, on the different geological factors at play that could have an impact on this, as well as sinkhole collapse. I would love to discuss this with people who want to take the time to read this. Here it is: [link to www.coastalenv.com] This is good information thank you. I was looking for this. I have only glanced at it, but will study tomorrow. My question is: Are you concerned that the aquifer that supplies this area, as well as other states, may explode due to changes in water level or pressure due to the drought this past summer? Also is there any truth to the rumor that oil may have been stored beneath the aquifer? Thank you. |

I really don't think it would be a good idea to drop a nuke in the sinkhole. Would probably rip the country into two parts. Update: Dangerous Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Detected, Seismic Activity Picking UP Guys, things just got a lot worse at the sinkhole down here. Quoting: Earth Cries This is less than 50% of the article: Officials: Math doesn’t work; end to evacuation is unclear The math isn’t adding up in Assumption Parish, and some parish officials are worried about what might be happening underground near a Bayou Corne area sinkhole. State Department of Natural Resources scientists said they think a subterranean Texas Brine Co. salt cavern failed, allowing earth to partially fill the 2,250-foot-long vault and ultimately cause the sinkhole to form about 200 feet to the northwest of the cavern’s top. Parish officials say the volume of the brine-filled sinkhole is much smaller than the amount of displaced earth now in the cavern, prompting worries about other unknown subterranean voids or gaps left in the area by the shifted sediments that could lead to further disturbance at the surface. Boudreaux and Waguespack said it is their worry that the possible voids or gaps underground left by the 2.7 million cubic yards of earth that shifted could lead to sinkholes appearing in other locations. Read it all here: [link to theadvocate.com] This is not looking good. Has there been a worst case scenario done by these folks at Texas Brine? I don't know, El Q, but I will try to find out. There is so little credible info coming out down here. The local news on WAFB will do a 20 or 30 second spot about it a couple of times a week. Must be a big deal to the DHS, DEQ, etc because they are down there and yesterday USGS said they are putting out more seismic sensors in a much wider area. Update: Dangerous Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Detected, Seismic Activity Picking UP The news black out is intentional. They don't know what's happening and they are afraid people would panic if there is a worse case scenario. Quoting: Earth Cries thatisnot the reason, and you know it, and i know you know it, and now you know that i know you know i know it, and, yes, that scares me.- but then so does John 8:44 where Jesus was telling the Jews what he thought of them, and they murdered him for it. So should i think iam any safer than Jesus?- no. |

Here it is: [link to www.coastalenv.com] Your insights would be appreciated on this and any threads related to this very serious topic. You're welcome to add to my thread: Thread: The Official Consolidation Thread for Lousiana Sinkhole and Other Related Happenings Thanks! Let's all work together and get this information out! I love a great discussion. This topic is absolutely worth our time, effort and grey matter... For sure. |

Update: Dangerous Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Detected, Seismic Activity Picking UP To me, it looks like the rainy season has started and the water pools up into that wetland area. Seems like you have more water than normal so some trees died and it has expanded a little bigger than normal. This is probably because of some development around there forcing more water from one area to this specific area because it is a low area. Bubbles happen because of peat moss decaying. This happens all the time as I live in Washington state where we have a lot of wet lands. Dry in the summer and then as it rains it looks just like these pictures and videos. Day after day more PINS on this subject and nothing is happening. I watched the videos, looks like water run off to this area more than anything because no one is saying water is coming up from this hole. So where did the water come from.... It is just run off. I will file a .... FLAG>>>> Last Edited by TripleH on 10/22/2012 06:12 PM In response to TripleH: Texas Brine is the company who might appreciate your brilliant comments. Please go to Texasbrine.com and click on Bayou Corne sinkhole. Read. Now take into account that they would naturally spin information and reports to their advantage. If you can't that think that conspiracy could be afoot, then you are at the least, unimaginative. Sinkholes aren't uncommon. Sinkholes filled with surface water are not uncommon. Sinkholes whose contents include petroleum and gas of unknown origin are suspiciously worrisome. Further the culprit (cause) of the sinkhole in this case is the collapse of an underground salt cavern, which is used for the storage of gas and oil. Your ignorance and arrogance sir, is irritating. |
