And, as per my luck, it is on a channel I can't get. Update: Dangerous Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Detected, Seismic Activity Picking UP All's well. I had minor damage; got electric and heat back friday night, with cable/internet late yesterday. I'm finally getting to see photos...it's so widespread, and heart-breaking. Okay, back to business. I am confused by the 11-01 pictures, and the '10-31' map. These do not look right. The 'base' photo used for the 10-31 map is from before the pipeline 'road' was lost. The 11-01 flyover shows some great amount of something in that same pipeline area, which appears not to be coming from the sinkhole proper. Since I have yet to catch up on everything else, perhaps this has already been explained logically. Yet, last night I managed to get back to another sinkhole thread, pretty much finding that old photos are being used as base photos...which seems deceiving on one hand, while foolishly inadequate on the other. Okay...I'll keep reading now! -- TRUST THE PLAN -- .......WWG1WGA...... ____________________________ still in awe of many things |

Update: Dangerous Hydrogen Sulfide Gas Detected, Seismic Activity Picking UP I'm sorry to say this, but this new 'supposed' history is vastly incorrect, and insulting in many ways, The film of the sinkhole dates back to early August...we HERE all know this, yet, the people in that area who are not well-informed are being shown pretty green trees with a somewhat mysterious small hole inside. With authorities stating a simple 'this is unprecedented' totally discounts all of the decades long studies which mention such scenarios. That this series continually uses words that give the viwer the impression that teams onsite are 'controlling' the spread is so dishonest, it totally diminishes any knowledge that this thing CANNOT be contained. The statement that Texas Brine has until November 13th to present their report, as if Texas Brine is the ONLY liability in this matter. When they mentioned the four 200' borehole perforations that are supposed to help release the gas from the aquifer...which, they say, is not working. Well, we have seen the videos in a fracking situation, where long lengths of specialized pipes with multiple collection holes are used to facilitate enhanced collection. I think there is a bit of questionable info being reported, perhaps along with faulty science. What about the people who are being told the water is okay to drink? What about all the indications that the surrounding waterways were ALREADY compromised?...oh, wait, they don't know this yet, since the videos did not mention it. The trees look all green, with idyllic views shown through the beautiful bayou landscape. Then you have the scientist who quips: glad I don't have to fix it. ============= It amounted to a neat 10 odd minutes of nicely produced fluff, with little relevant information. I KNOW that any number of posters here could have produced a far more informative video on their computer. Unfortunately, THAT video, based upon truth and science, would not only be frightening enough to scare people for miles and miles around, it may cause a Senate investigation. ====== Sorry guys, these videos have made me so very upset, I can hardly hold back tears. And, I'm some 1300 miles away in STATEN ISLAND, which has also been dealt its own hard blow, that keeps getting worse. I'm soooo disheartened. That is my concern, that Matt Simmons scenario will play out. :-( Didn't watch the Simpson's last night, will go search for it, did it have to di with a New Madrid explosion? Oh, man! Since I didn't have electric or cable, all I knew was the descriptions from our customers. Since I got to see the pictures last night (Sunday) I am somewhat in shock. It really resembles a war zone, yet, my immediate area was largely spared from the destructive flood damage. The storm due on Wednesday will be a rain-soaked one, which Sandy was not. This means that all of the partially uprooted and leaning trees will most likely come crashing down. In 7 days, our tree service only got to help about three dozen homeowners, three where people were trapped inside! For the past two days, as news of the coming storm spreads, many panicked people are calling, pleading to get their leaning trees down. I have actually been overcome by tearing eyes, as I try to give them sound advice in lieu of being able to help them this quickly. I was compelled to tell a few elder widows and one widower to keep my number handy, so they can call me during the storm if they need someone to talk to. "Take a few deep breaths, make a cup of tea, then call me." So much of it looks like the 9th Ward on steroids in many ways, the same high water lines on standing buildings, with widespread areas with either homes simply gone missing, or, none intact. Unlike New Orleans, many of these homes had basements, so we are talking open pools of muck surrounded by debris in some cases. I did see similar scenes of the Mississippi shorelines after Katrina or Rita, but, I think when you consider that these areas in NY were crowded bustling city landscapes just hours before, the vast change makes you think it more a war zone. There are many old trees down, some laying across multiple houses, spanning across 5 or 6 backyards each! I will need a LOT of tea... ================ Sooooo, is there a link to the Simpsons? This is curious! Thanks for your concern -- TRUST THE PLAN -- .......WWG1WGA...... ____________________________ still in awe of many things |
