Yes, I saw it and thanks for posting it here. Their greed knows no bounds. They have absolutely no respect for human life or the environment. That deep drilling has to have a huge effect on the unstable area there.

Hey, Guys! Remember the explosion at Camp Minden a few weeks ago? Just got a phone call from my sister and she told me that the State Troopers weren't satisfied with the investigation and got a warrant to go into the Camp. They found 1 MILLION pounds of black powder just sitting outside on the ground in cardboard boxes that were rotting from the weather!!
They are going to evacuate the town of Doyline and all the surrounding area before they even attempt to start the clean up!
1 MILLION pounds of explosive!!

Any kind of link on that one? Hate to be <that> guy, but that sounds too crazy to be true. Though if it is I doubt it will get covered anywhere. Kind of a catch 22 there for what I'm asking for I guess.

Bayou Corne is on city water. Some farmers in the area might have wells, but the well water is pretty bad. Some Cajuns back in the bayou probably still drink well water, but they'll blow the head off any feds pokin' around offering to test anything. Besides, they're pretty immune to further mutation.

So, if you check a map of Assumption Parish and look at its location relative to the Gulf of Mexico's overall shoreline, the sandbar sort of spotty nature of Louisiana's Southern portion that extends out into the Gulf, you can see that Assumption Parish sits in the Gulf of Mexico already now, just following the natural curve of the shoreline. You can also see how all of the boot of Louisiana looks like a spotty sandbar from above, like the way a pile of dirt just eventually dissolves away in a puddle. Go look! And there's been reports of brine shrimp coming up out of the Assumption Parish sinkhole so that means Gulf of Mexico water is coming up out of the sinkhole and that same Gulf is eroding away all these salt caverns which is going to be a disaster even if it doesn't blow up because it's going to look like a time-lapsed picture of beach erosion but over decades not millennia and we're going in short order to see the Gulf swallow up a large portion of the Southern U.S.

Specifically his link referred to Florida. What is notable is that the water levels in the Mississippi have been kept artificially low due to the Army Corps of Engineers decision to keep the Missouri River levels low, apparently. Now, if the Mississippi River levels are getting lower, but the Ocean and Gulf levels are getting higher..... When anything happens that's going to maximize flooding.

Not funny. I love the Cajun and French Black cultures and am tired of the cultural slurs. I know people. I want them and their culture to live. Their cultural integrity and communities , livelihoods and subsistence are being destroyed, as well as the health and lives of the people in south La.

The cajuns have a history of being driven out and making the best of suboptinmal conditions without losing the ability to find joy and be kind. THey and have made long time communities in lands no one else would live in, and no one living in south Louisiana deserves what is happening.

The gulf residents in other states are suffering also. Loss of livelihoods, suffering sicknesses from corexit and the destruction of our ecology and all the non human lives being made sick and dying is not funny either. By the way, yahoo is mistaken- Gulf shrimp are not safe to eat and the blue crab larvae have crude and corexit in them. which means everything in the food chain connected to them will have it.

As human rights to health abuses continue in the giant Louisiana sinkhole area, with its dangerous radiation levels released for over four months, state officials say they are investigating how Texas Brine Co. LLC managed the naturally occurring radioactive material there and whether it illegally disposed the "non-dangerous" radioactive material under Bayou Corne and Grand Bayou communities in the Napoleonville Dome in the mid-1990s.

Testing of the pipe scale found dirt had a radioactivity of 20 to 40 micro-rems per hour, according to Martin. The standard of the NORM was above 20 micro-rems per hour. That standard has since been raised to 50 micro-rems per hour, Martin explained.

Raising the acceptable limit of poisonous materials so that they can be reported as "safe" is a standard operating procedure in protection agencies. The same happened with seafood testing after the BP oil catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico began.
