OMG Incredible 3D Fractals!

I used to play with fractals until I went completely PovRay 3-D with a huge Nvidia cared for long rendering time.

I have an old snow landscape fractal made from a Mandelbrot side view 3-d fractal, then dropped it into a 3-d program tipped it on it's side, extrapolated it (art geeks know what extrapolated means) and then lit it up by virtual 3-d sunlight and skinned in all in white.

Not too many people have ever seen a skinned fractal. :)

Wish I could show it off but not sure in AC's can post pictures.

Well im no good at art. I gave up on all the 3D design programs like that. The thing i love about this program is the beauty is in the fractals themselves, its just waiting to be discovered/rendered. All i have to do is look for a good image and click render.

Yea, the math behind the 3-d is a bitch, I keep asprin relief nearby. :)

I think I can show you it was going to be an album cover so it is lightly watermarked and sized down for the web and I used your same img host.

But the speed of this program is ridiculous. There's a much more popular program called mandelbulber. But its CPU based, and each frame takes upto an hr, its totally ridiculous.

yes thats a certain effect appplied to a 2d fractal to give the impression of 3D. height mapped or something.

But that works really well, its all most like a giant ice shelf or something. good pic.

Now days I spend my brain dead fun time making simple tileable art for backgrounds. I don't have to think much. No math required. lol
