DOWSERing for those 99 cent Hotdogs at the local 7-11 I understand. Worked last night, rumor has it.

I know of a very easy way to find water underground.

Get a wire hanger and straighten it out. At one end, bend it at a 90 degree angle roughly the same size as the width of your palm.

Close your hand lightly around the part which is the same length as your hand. Point the other, longer part, out in front of you, and horizontally to the ground as you walk. Hold it so that it can easily turn in your hand.

As you walk it will point directly at water underground even if it is in a pipe.
