Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
Cool thread. I'm jealous of all of you who have had such dreams. I don't think I've ever dreamed of those I've lost.

Including my wife, who died last June. I woke up a few weeks ago and realized that if I could dream of her, it would be a good way to see her, to hear her voice, maybe touch her. I miss her so much, the realization made me weep, and I spent the whole day getting over it. Despite my best efforts to induce it, she never appears. We were together for 28 years.

I think if you see a loved one in a dream it's a gift, or a blessing, or maybe just incredibly good luck. Enjoy it if you can.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my husband after 9 yrs. of marriage. It's not easy to go through and I feel for you. The first two years were a blur and I only forced myself to function for the kids.

Give it time for her to contact you. I have had many experiences with deceased loved ones and have come to two conclusions.

Some of the dreams/contacts were from distant relatives I wasn't as close to as some other family members were. At first that puzzled me but then I realized it was probably because those they come to have to be open to it. Possibly other family members who had been closer to the person weren't ready or open to the idea. They don't want to scare us if they don't think we can handle it.

The second thing that puzzled me was that some of the ones I was extremely close to didn't come back until a long time after their death whereas others would come many times during the first year after. I was told that this is because some are not able to right away whereas others had the energy to accomplish it. It has to do with where they are at in their journey and their own energies.

Perhaps Angel Man will return to this thread and offer his opinion on this. But don't give up yet. Five months is probably only a few moments to them. Each night before you fall asleep tell her you want her to come to your dreams and possibly she will when she is able and be on the look out for other types of contacts because sometimes they come in mysterious ways.

My mother always wondered why Dad did not contact her, and she was without him for over 40 years. I have to wonder if Dad had wanted her to move on, that maybe that he did not want her to spend her life alone. Maybe he thought that visiting would keep her from getting on with the rest of her life. We have no idea what those who have passed on know about those who were left behind, so I'm just guessing or speculating here.

Anyhow, I'm sorry for your loss.

In that opening I have a door to these people. Once upon a time i unknowingly had fear of my angel, So i had fear of the angel's world, unknowingly. As a child I was terrified of the being hiding under the bed, But as an adult when i looked at it again, it was actually an angel and it had come to comfort me. Give Comfort. So my fear had separated me.And allowing it back opened many doors.

Hi OM. After my mom died in 06 she came to me in a dream and took our
entire family on a roller coaster ride. This ride seemed all important and the stops were all over Canada. Never knew what to make of it. The places were wonderful and joyous.

i travel a lot and I feel led by my ancestors. i go to a place and I think, I have been here before. Then I realise they had been here.
There are spirits of place. Each place has a spirit. And it has a memory and memories. The spirit of ancestors that is with you and these spirits know each other. They evolve together by acknowledgement. My dreams are almost always set in a place.
Also this is why there are sacred places.

Thank-you, Angel Man. I was hoping you would offer some insight.

I looked at your other links last night and will also look at this one and will have time tonight to browse around your site. I've also been "visited" since childhood and just accepted it as part of life. I just felt I am here and they are there and I will catch up with them soon enough so no need to worry about it. But now, since my husband's death, I'm more interested in learning more of the details and I'm so glad I found this thread and your link to your site. Thanks again!

And, Only Me, I hope you are able to solve your puzzle of what your grandfather wants. Keep us posted! And thanks for the great thread!

Wow, fantastic stories! I'm really fascinated with your website but was wondering why you don't have a contact email address for it. Is there one & I missed it? Or could you add one? Would like to share something that Dr. Hank Wesselman (author of SpiritWalker & Visionseeker) told me about the first Bardo. I would like to get your opinion of his interpretation also. Too long & complicated to post here and probably off-topic to OM's thread. Thanks.

Traveling is also a very common if not exclusive theme when my little Brother and Father are in my dreams.
They are the two closest that have died most recently.

But more than travel, there is always an 'official' or barricade of some kind
impeding our travel, or even blocking the ingress point of our destination.

The travel is often nearly always very rushed and frantic,
almost like we are trying to escape from somewhere.

I always wake up right before we either 'get in' or get caught.

Cool thread OM, maybe he wants you to chose something other than a (comfortable) object from your past? 1dunno1

Dreams are extremely symbolic.. the traveling could be indicative of the fact that the deceased just traveled from one dimension (the physical) to the spiritual plane

Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
I thought I would add some theory I gained from my experiences.I will try to shorten it so bear with me.

The primary spirit guide is the guardian angel. Ancestors are also guides. We have our different subtle bodies such as physical etheric astral spirit. When we dream about those passed over we use first the dreambody. This body has all senses as we do but they are subtle and not always developed. When we 'dream' of angels we use the angel body. This body also has angel senses. but they must be developed. Usually we develop only one sense ability such as seeing or hearing or smell or feeling or touch. So we get 'signs' through this primary sense. but we have to learn to develop the others so we can get the full message. It is like having TV with just the picture or the sound on. It just doesnt make it. The others have to be adjusted and attuned so we get the picture.
get the picture???

also, I have talked to many people and they all have stories to share. Every single one. Often they had never told anyone. So i feel there is some Taboo in our society around talking about this. I guess the greatest problem that can arise is 'speculation' and 'ideas' esp religious ideas rather than personal experiences. It is so important to have personal experiences acknowledged.

I think we may sometimes go out of body while sleeping and meet with our deceased relatives there. When we wake up it seems like a dream but it was real.

Wow! Must be the time of the year for it. My grandpa visited me in September...more than once but this one was a doozy. I put up a post but no one commented.

You mentioned an owl...Owls are protectors of the dead. The owl symbolizes the protected release of the newly sprung soul into the realm of the spirits from the realm of the living.

Thread: Dreamed about my dead grandparents last night

Owls are oracles. They know secrets. You say the owl was handmade. Who made it? Maybe they have a secret to share with you.

Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
I had a grandmother visit my dreams. I never knew why she was showing up. She just stood there and said nothing. She didn't move. Nothing else was in the dreams, just her standing and looking at me with her mouth closed.

It took me some serious meditation to find out what she was saying to me without talking.

As it happened, when I was only 16 and living with just her, she got mad at me for having a boy over and lying about it.

Her punishment was that she didn't speak to me for a year. I realized that I had never forgiven her for this. When I did finally forgive her I felt a great relief.

Perhaps something like that is happening to you?

when my brother died he came back and told me he was ok he was laughing and dancing, same with my grandad, lots of my friends are being visited at the moment, our loved ones are never far from us, they are always there to help us, i talk to my brother all the time.......
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26099747

After my dad died, he came through in a dream but he couldn't speak. I'm not sure why. My grandpa was with him and spoke for him saying everything's ok and hugged me.

My more recent, recurring dreams have more urgency and severity to them. He wants me to DO something. I just don't know what.

And these dreams are going to keep happening with more and more intensity until I figure it out.

Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
My dad died thirty years ago when I was twenty. The first year or so, I would regularly have dreams where he would appear. Most of the dreams never made any sense though; one dream, for example, my dad and I were downhill skiing but in real life, we had never been skiing and had no interest in skiing.
The thing that was disturbing though was that I would at times have dreams that were disturbing or frightening about my dad. For example, a dream I vividly still remember is that we were in a big church at his funeral when suddenly he popped up from the coffin looking scary and scaring the life out of me. Any insight as to why I had these disturbing dreams? We had a pretty normal life and relationship and those bad dreams really got to me.
I envy people who have some kind of meaningful contact with their dead loved ones; wonder why some do and some don't.

For some reason, I never dream of my relatives that have passed on, I only dream about current living, and practically the "future" by that, I mean being with them, but in place I have never been before, or with things they never had but they owned while in the dream. I always have these types of dreams.

I forgot to mention. the key to have a connection to that other world is that you have to have PEACE in yourself in this world. You know they write RIP on the gravestone but what about Peace Now.
If a dream disturbs it means something inside you is disturbed. And disturbed is good because it tries to move you towards not being disturbed. To be aware that something more is needed. Some further appreciation. Its like a wake up call 'WAKE UP', CHANGE. Things are not how you might think they are. So he has to resort to scaring you.

The downhill skying is not about skying but about downhill. I have to tell people if you feel down go down. Down into the earth. Feel the earth. Go down into the earth. Jesus spent 3 days in the earth. That changed him, and it changed the Earth. Christ consciousness is there. This is a great secret.

Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
About 8 months ago I dreamed of my dad ..... I was outside and I saw dad across the branch where we live that separates land.

He was there by a rocky cut ledge on the edge of the field...he went into the rocks face...there was a clef in the rock he just went into it...then he came back out.

He was acting nervous and pressed for time.

I went to cross the branch to get him to come home with me. But he rushed to me and met me before I could go through the branch or go into the water.

He came with me to the house we walked back to it together. But I noticed once he crossed the branch neither one of us had a body.

We were together and there but I had no body any more neither did he.

I wanted him to come in and stay with me....but he would not enter the house he would not speak to me either. He just stood out side with me.

I talked with him about remolding we were doing....then all of a sudden everything went black.

I turned to look around and was seeing only black nothing but black. I noticed then that I was laying down not standing and in my bed not out side....I felt some one in the bed with me.

I sleep alone but there was some on in bed with me asleep they were snoring. I stretched my arm and hand out to the side where they were and was trying to feel who it was.

I could not see anything and was like asleep my own self. Even though I thought I was sleeping I was also thinking in my sleep like dreaming it.

But I was awake in my dream....and I knew this at the same time I knew I was asleep.

The person in bed with me or in my bed began mumbling because of me felling and patting them to figure our who it was..They were one their side with their back to me.

When they mumbled I recognized it was my mom.

I asked her what was I going to do with dad out there...he was outside and I needed to make a place for him to come in and get him to come inside with us.

She said "I don't know what to do with him."

The second she answered me like that it broke us apart and only I was left in my bed wide awake. The blackness gave way to just a dark room not that jet black.

I used to talk to my grandmother in my sleep and she would talk to me..we would even have the same dream on the same night and be sharing the dream talking to each other in it.

When I would go to check on her we would exchange what we shared with each other in the dream.

She would tell me what she felt about it and what we had done and such...basically her feelings and view of what was and was going on between us.

Then I would tell here how I felt during it. And whether I saw it differently than her or the same. Some times we would be at odds over something in the dream...and have to come to grips with it....basically amend something.

Worst part about is the dreams we would have would later come to actually take place. And we would fall into the same thing that caused us in the dream to have to make amends for.

And I always felt like why do we dream something in advance know better than to...do or say the things we say.

Then turn around and live out that same dream a month later and fall right into the same thing we dreamed of and chose not to accept it as what we wanted or would do or act like.

We shared the good and the bad in our sleep together in a dream we both were having ...and both of us were in that dream together. In real time and real life.

What blew my mind was to connect to my mom like that with her there has not been that bond I had with my grandmother.

But I do think it is time to bond together with mom. Settle our way and make sure nothing is left unsaid or done.
Or riding the last mile of the way out together she should not be left to walk it out alone.

She needs somebody and a place she can go even when she can not walk or stand or get out of her bed.

What are your thoughts :

I have been having dreams about my grandfather who died awhile back.

They are always set in different places but have the same theme - some sort of ritual where he brings family members one at a time in a room full of random objects and says we have to choose one item and then choose one family member (I don't know what he wants that person to do) .

And he is very serious - as if something of extreme importance will result in my choice.

The owl thing makes me nervous. Owls and deer are used for screensaver memories in abductees. Did your g-father make the owl himself? Why did he have an owl...was he a naturalist? Or was he trying to figure out his own owl connections? Putting his glasses on the owl at night seems endearing, but also could have significance. Was he seeing owls in his sleep?

Anyway, just my take on the owl...creeps me out a bit. I hope I am wrong about it.

My own dad has come to me in OBE a few times. He didn't try to tell me anything, I think because he knew that I would later question if it was him or someone making themselves LOOK like him. I could feel the love, though, and that was the whole point. The love. It's boundless.

Best wishes, OP. I hope you can figure it all out and it comes to a comforting conclusion.

Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
amazing thread! love reading everyone's stories.

sure, sometimes perhaps its our subconscious, but not every time! i have experience that its not and many stories in this thread are proof that its not.

i will dream of my grandmother, it happened more often after she died. sometimes i call my mother to tell her, and then she says she dreamed of her last night too!

i always want to tell her how much i love her & miss her, though she doesn't seem to know that she's not with us anymore.

also i think it is possible to be visited by different parts of a person, perhaps after we die over a course of time our spirit separates from our personality.

and then perhaps over time the personality even fragments into elements of different densities. i know it sounds crazy but some of the dreams i've had are disturbing or even scary.

like i'm meeting a part of her personality without her soul being present within it.

This is where I might say that it was "something" trying to look like her, but wasn't her.

They love to masquerade as our loved ones and then mess with us in our dreams.

Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
Dead relatives can't communicate with the dead. Don't fall for it. It's demons impersonating, especially in cases where people "think" they see or hear a departed loved one, or even Mary, the "saints" etc. It's one of satans greatest deceptions especially here at the end of time.

My dad believes the same. I don't. Since I've actually experienced the dreams of the dead, and he hasn't, I'm pretty sure I have a better insight than he.

I have always dreamed of my loved ones after they passed. So does my mom.

I had a very good friend drink herself to death when I was younger. It was very hard to deal with her passing because I was the one who put her in the position(as bartender) that allowed her open access to all the liquor. She didn't die at the bar, but her downfall started there. So for 6 mos after she died, I would dream of her almost every night.

We always met at the same place, a yard with no house. It had a fence with pretties hung on it and we would sit in the grass and talk. Eventually I came to the realization that it was not my fault that she chose the path she did, and it helped me to forgive myself. Then, when her fiance found another girl(mutual friend) and she got pregnant, I kind of flipped out about it. When I dreamed though, we were back at our yard, and when I told Carrie about the.baby, she smiled and waved her hand over the grass. When she did that, water started rising up through the grass and I saw hundreds of fish swimming in it. To me that meant there were other fish in the sea, and I was fine with it after that.

In fact, they had that babyand went on to have twins after that and are still a happy family a decade later. Everything, even the terrible stuff, happens for a reason. abduct

Re: Relatives who have passed visiting your dreams
I have had numerous visits/dreams of my deceased mother, most of them very soon after she died 3 years ago. The one that stands out the most to me is one that ended with her telepathically telling me, "It's not how you think it is." That dream ended with me feeling very uneasy, not at all comforted or at peace like other visits. I want to know what that means!

Since then, I have had numerous occasions where I have wanted her to come, and I prayed for her to, but always with the blessing of Christ. She never came when I asked. While I absolutely loved the visits as a whole, I have no idea if it was really her each time or what. I'd like to think it was, but how can I really know? For my own peace of mind, I've decided to not take to heart any messages I get from her or other deceased relatives (I had both of my grandfathers come too since my mom died -- like I opened a door or something -- and one of the dreams was not a nice one, as he was in torment, not knowing where he was or why). If it really them, that is a wonderful gift I am receiving, and I appreciate it. But I don't want anything sinister to trick me into anything, so I won't ever follow through on something potentially dangerous that I received in a dream message. Some of those things might not be obvious, like leading me astray spiritually.

I think it's very personal how one decides to take these dream visits. Like I said... how do we know for SURE it's really who we think it is? Maybe my first dream, the most comforting from my mom, was really her, as it brought me a lot of peace. But maybe the one that left me feeling very uneasy and confused wasn't her. We'll all find out one day what's on the other side, but I'm erring on the side of caution while still on this side of the veil.
