This is God's idea of showing us how he can use anyone! Saul, (who later became Paul) was a tax collector who also killed christians. He was one of the most prominent Christians in History. Many men in the ancient times were married to more than one woman at a time. This is one of the reasons that Mormons think it isn't exactly wrong to marry more than one.
