Quoting: ExTraDimensionaL777 since you've spoke about energy throught the spine ;D Kundalini starts at the base of the spine and works up through the energy systems. What she is describing appears to be the opposite. Opening of the crown chakra and allowing universal energy to flow and fill your being. Kundalini is the energy of the earth. The real goal is to get the Kundalini to start working up and get it to shot out of your crown and then start pulling universe energy through the crown...at that point you are becoming your magnetic self :P |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 23579473 United States 10/25/2012 04:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I myself get ASMR. I always have and can't remember a time when I didn't. Every time I say something about it people look at me like I'm crazy, but apparently I'm not. Quoting: BlondeDramaQueen I used to get it as a kid when my grandmother would lay me on her lap and tell me stories. I am triggered usually by voices and people playing with my hair. Here's some info on ASMR and some videos. What Is ASMR? What if you were to lay down and someone were to gently run their nails up and down the inside of your arm or around your palm? Would that create this sensation that you are describing? From my experience gentle stimulation in this manner can produce a feeling of bliss and almost euphoria throughout your body. For me it puts my body into a state of deep relaxation. Is this the same thing you are describing? I would experience this as a kid. I can't say I've experienced this without physically being stimulated in some way... |

My dog is spoiled as hell and will lay next to me while I rub his belly or paws and he's always turned over on his back when his legs in the air and appears to be in state of doggy bliss. I can't say I've experienced this without physically being touched in some way... You are so on track with the way you are think bro!!! Awesome job. This book even goes into taking a feather and rubbing it down your arm or leg or what ever part of the body you are wanting to "stimulate." It gives you something physical to attach to. With practice you will be able to just think about a place on your body and that spot will start to "activate." This book goes as far as to teach how to take this a step farther and go out of body... Anonymous Coward User ID: 24909641 Australia 10/25/2012 05:34 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | After becoming a parent nearly 20 years ago I began to experience it when I saw my or any child accomplish a task , learn something new, or impress an adult with a skill with unexpected clarity or talent...it's not limited to kids impressing their parents though, basically anytime an "underdog" shows unexpected talent...like this: Watch Amanda's reaction at 1:57. That sums it up. Thanks for sharing, Brief! Yup, that's it they all had it, Simon had it when the guy first started singing. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 24909641 Australia 10/25/2012 06:23 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I wonder if this sensation is felt by every racial group? It might explain differences in say music or art. Maybe that is why some play the music but dont "get it", and arent inspired by the music. Not alot of modern music triggers the rush, but quite a bit of classical music does. If you dont experience the rush you wont really appreciate the music. |

scimitar User ID: 26340281 United States 10/26/2012 11:32 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was going to comment on this thread yesterday, but I couldn't at work. I had my first ASMR experience when I was about 11 that was 48 years ago. At the time I was completely stunned by the experience. I was listening to a girl talk and it happened almost immediately. I started at the base of my skull in the back of my head. I can only describe it as euphoric, I didn't want to move and I didn't want her to stop talking. Obviously I had no idea what it was and I rarely talked talked about it. No one I ever mentioned to related a similar experience. reading this thread yesterday was the first time I've ever read anyone describing the sensation. When I am in the middle of the feeling it is all consuming, however when I come back down it does not pull me back in with desire. It is real as anything, but delicate and fleeting, I cannot maintain it for more than just few minutes. There is no other experience in my life that is similar. The three videos I watched brought me within inches of the experience, but not to the peak, but hey it was pretty good. The problem with the videos was that they also illicited a slightly erotic twist which, although enjoyable, was absolutely not conducive to producing the true feeling. Those that have never felt this can only imagine what it is like. I accept them as a gift when I have them and move on. I'm not an advocate of trying to produce them at will, Then I would take every spare moment and escape, not very rational. Take care all Last Edited by scimitar on 10/26/2012 03:14 PM Ominous regressions One Truth... many realities |

Thinking about this reminded me of something I saw a while back, the solfeggio frequencies. I'm not sure if it's the dual mike setup but some of them are effective in similar ways, this is an interesting area of research but the cynic in me is wondering where the research for this came from and what other effects, besides eliciting a physical response, there could be. Anyhoo here's one of the better ASMR stim vids featuring the solfeggio frequencies, enjoy; [link to www.youtube.com] |
