I am a huge ASMR junky!
I found out there was a name for this feeling over a year ago now. Watching ASMR youtube videos knocks me out faster than any sleeping pills lol

This is my current favorite girl in the community, aside from of course gentlewhispering/Maria.
This video was a suggestion I had because one of the first triggers I remember getting was from watching return to OZ when I was little and Dorothy combed her pumpkin lol.

Kundalini starts at the base of the spine and works up through the energy systems. What she is describing appears to be the opposite. Opening of the crown chakra and allowing universal energy to flow and fill your being. Kundalini is the energy of the earth. The real goal is to get the Kundalini to start working up and get it to shot out of your crown and then start pulling universe energy through the crown...at that point you are becoming your magnetic self :P

What if you were to lay down and someone were to gently run their nails up and down the inside of your arm or around your palm? Would that create this sensation that you are describing? From my experience gentle stimulation in this manner can produce a feeling of bliss and almost euphoria throughout your body. For me it puts my body into a state of deep relaxation. Is this the same thing you are describing? I would experience this as a kid.

I can't say I've experienced this without physically being stimulated in some way...

You are so on track with the way you are think bro!!! Awesome job. This book even goes into taking a feather and rubbing it down your arm or leg or what ever part of the body you are wanting to "stimulate." It gives you something physical to attach to. With practice you will be able to just think about a place on your body and that spot will start to "activate." This book goes as far as to teach how to take this a step farther and go out of body... not sure if this is it or related, but sometimes when people talk close to one ear, either one, i get an intense feeling like a tickle down my neck and side. such a sharp feeling that i actually cringe. i've always wondered what it was because nobody ever seemed to know what i was talking about.

Hair dryers. That's what does it for me.

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. It's a combination of the white noise and the warmth. I fucking fall asleep every time i use a hair dryer.

How about when you're at the barber and they use the razor to touch up around your neck area. Always enjoy that sensation.

I wonder if this sensation is felt by every racial group? It might explain differences in say music or art.

Maybe that is why some play the music but dont "get it", and arent inspired by the music.

Not alot of modern music triggers the rush, but quite a bit of classical music does. If you dont experience the rush you wont really appreciate the music.

I used to get this when younger but I seem to have gotten "immune" over the years. Listening to a new beautiful music will do that to me sometimes (very rare), but objects and people no longer work.

I was going to comment on this thread yesterday, but I couldn't at work.

I had my first ASMR experience when I was about 11 that was 48 years ago. At the time I was completely stunned by the experience. I was listening to a girl talk and it happened almost immediately. I started at the base of my skull in the back of my head. I can only describe it as euphoric, I didn't want to move and I didn't want her to stop talking.

Obviously I had no idea what it was and I rarely talked talked about it. No one I ever mentioned to related a similar experience.

reading this thread yesterday was the first time I've ever read anyone describing the sensation.

When I am in the middle of the feeling it is all consuming, however when I come back down it does not pull me back in with desire. It is real as anything, but delicate and fleeting, I cannot maintain it for more than just few minutes. There is no other experience in my life that is similar.

The three videos I watched brought me within inches of the experience, but not to the peak, but hey it was pretty good. The problem with the videos was that they also illicited a slightly erotic twist which, although enjoyable, was absolutely not conducive to producing the true feeling.

Those that have never felt this can only imagine what it is like. I accept them as a gift when I have them and move on. I'm not an advocate of trying to produce them at will, Then I would take every spare moment and escape, not very rational.

Thinking about this reminded me of something I saw a while back, the solfeggio frequencies. I'm not sure if it's the dual mike setup but some of them are effective in similar ways, this is an interesting area of research but the cynic in me is wondering where the research for this came from and what other effects, besides eliciting a physical response, there could be. like an Angel or the closest I have ever seen. I still can not belive this can happen with a video. it has made me tingle everywhere except my hands and feet and for more than a few seconds like I experienced before on very rare occasions.

this could really help with other problems I think.

It's incredible how the brain can be tricked into experiencing something even when it's actually just looking at a recording. That was quite insane.

The bad thing is that I have a stomach pain right now and it's preventing me to fully enjoy these videos, but I will come back to them.
