I am in a business relationship with a very dishonest and dark person, possible sociopath. I know that if I simply left, that they could and would destroy me professionally - in some ways it seems clear that they are already making an effort to do so. This relationship is similar to some from my past and I want to break the pattern that invites these people into my life. Would you be able to shed some light about how to disconnect from this person and remove all consent I have given for them to be attached to me? Maybe cutting them loose would allow them to just drift away... I know there is a lesson here and am ready to figure it out and be free.

First know that your involvement witH them is a conscious choice of your making so another choice is needed to break the cycle. Since you already suspect that they might be already tiring to destroy you than the choice of walking away already holds the same risk/reward.
