the society knows in it's subconscious that something is not right with "normal"

so it needs drugs to escape from this "normal"

if it wasn't for drugs the revolt against "normal" would've been a done deal a while ago

hence it's in the interest of the controllers to proliferate drugs on the society , it makes it so much easier for them
