Will The Bottom Fall Out? 15 Signs That Layoffs And Job Losses Are Skyrocketing
If you are concerned about whether or not you will still have a job 12 months from now, you might find the numbers posted below to be quite alarming. We have not seen layoff announcements come this fast and this furious since the gloomy days of the last recession.

According to Bloomberg, job cuts are well ahead of the pace set last year…

North American companies have announced plans to eliminate more than 62,600 positions at home and abroad since Sept. 1, the biggest two-month drop since the start of 2010, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Firings total 158,100 so far this year, more than the 129,000 job cuts in the same period in 2011.

So what happens if the economy really starts sliding rapidly and this loss of jobs becomes an avalanche?

Can the U.S. economy and the American people handle another major economic downturn?

Some of the biggest names in the business world have announced job cuts in recent weeks. The following are 15 signs that layoffs and job losses are skyrocketing…

1. Dow Chemical has announced that it will be closing about 20 plants and will be letting about 2,400 workers go.

2. Colgate-Palmolive has announced that they will be eliminating about 2,300 jobs.

3. DuPont has announced plans to eliminate about 1,500 jobs.

4. Ford has announced that it will be eliminating 6,200 jobs and will be reducing production capacity in Europe by 18 percent.

5. Hewlett-Packard announced last month that they plan to eliminate 29,000 jobs.

6. Chip maker AMD has announced that they will be getting rid of about 15 percent of their workers.

Supply and Demand, Demand is falling in the USA, where these companies are located...

Demand in China is rising, the problem is China has it's "own" state run companies who "Supply" products for that "Demand"

Better get used to it, MORE is coming!

The collapse continues, and all the make believe is coming to an end.

Proving once and for all, you cannot bank and print your way into prosperity while consuming everything, and producing almost nothing. Mathematics catches up with you eventually, and even your super computers cannot curve the trade enough and warp reality enough to stay out in front of it.

But, but we were told the economy is rebounding, housing is up, but what about the jobs data, we were told it is clear sailing.

Wow just wow, we wouldn't be lied to, would we?

Everything we hear and are told points to businesses wanting employees.

Maybe the WH is confused with the number of individuals applying for disability.

In all serious, I see jobs posted in some windows, the ones that offer part at minimum wage.

We are becoming a service industry and most service jobs pay very little.

I don't know where you're getting that from, but there's huge layoffs going on in China right now. Shipping has been completely obliterated because of the market, lots of shipping companies have gone bust in China. You think the thousands of people being layed off in the US is a lot, compare that to the MILLIONS of Chinese being layed off from their jobs. Foxcon already said they're going to move back to Taiwan and layoff over a million employees in China.

I am an electrician working in the telcom industry. I worked at the largest provider for equipment shelters and towers and now work at the second largest. Prior to leaving the first job was working 80 hour weeks which led to my leaving. We had years of work with no downtime ahead. Suddenly they had massive lay-off after I left. Nearly 70% laid-off, hundreds of people. Not even two weeks in to the new job already been assured not to worry about lay-off as they had "years of work down the pipeline", then the lay-offs. They laid off around 70% as well. Weird, both have years of work, highly profitable companies in a market where there is rare growth during this economic downtime. The telcos are expanding the coverage and throughput of their networks and the people are happy to spend to keep it all going. So sending bread winners home while there is work to do... answer that riddle.

Ahem, the US economy is not going up. It doesn't mater how many times Obama lies about it with their fraudulent figures such as the stupidly pathetic lie about 7.8% unemployment, the economy is still not going up.

Food stamp enrollment has climbed to 47 million people!
