Quoting: T-1000 18959534 I always give you shit but I'm gonna help you out here. I roll my own, costs about 80 cents a pack. For about fifty bucks you can get started and get enough supplies for 2.5 cartons. After your initial investment, 2.5 cartons worth will cost you 15-18 bucks. First, you need to buy a good CRANK injector. Don't fuck around with the stupid sliders, they are very time consuming. With practice, you can roll a pack in 3-5 minutes. I suggest the premier TOP-O-MATIC. They have been made for decades and are bullet proof. Then get you some tubes. I use HOT ROD, around $1.49 for 200. They are the best and cheapest I have found. Buy SMOOTH CUT pipe tobacco. It's the same as cigarette tobacco, just cut and taxed differently. It actually work better in the crank injector too. A good brand is Bacco. I smoke mild blends with light filters. This method is far cheaper and healthier than store bought. Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck! What kind specifically are you talking about? Give us a link to go by, there are several different ones. This it? [link to www.ebay.com] I tried the slide ones, they sucked so I gave up. |

Quoting: ttowngirl does it save you money? does it taste the same as name brand cigs? Yes, I make my own. I don't "roll," though. That's a pain in the ass. I buy a box of cigarette tubes with filter and use a nifty little gizmo to ram the tobacco in. It's very quick and easy. Saves a ton of money and the cigarettes taste fine. is that cheaper than rolling though? Time is money, so I say yes, it's cheaper. The tobacco packing gizmo is a a one-time purchase of under ten bucks and the tubes are only a few cents more than PAIN IN THE ASS unfiltered papers. |

Quoting: ttowngirl does it save you money? does it taste the same as name brand cigs? Buy the power matic II rolling machine between $80 -120 depending where you buy it. Buy the Daughters brand pipe tobacco. Same as cig tobacco. Pipes & cigars .com has best prices. 10 times tastier than store cigs & about $8 carton. No more coughing no more hacking etc etc. & no more chemicals that kill you. Can buy the tubes all over the place. After smoking these you will throw up when you try to smoke store bought. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 11125879 United States 10/27/2012 03:57 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Why roll your own? Get to the reserve and buy native smokes... I pay 4.25 a pack... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25917700 We buy from the Spokane, WA tribe... $1.25 to $1.45 a pack rolled in brown cigar paper, same as cigarettes I guess. But I roll my own, same tribe, I buy a 1 pound bag for $10 used with Top tubes and the slider. Don't like the slider much but eh.. This 1 pound bag has lasted me 3 weeks and I have half the bag left. I used to smoke camel 99s, too easy to pull one right after the other out of the pack.I could go through 2c packs a day. This way, I stop and think about what I'm doing. Sometimes I'm too lazy to roll, so... yay. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 25711532 Canada 10/28/2012 02:30 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I roll my own.. Its cheaper for sure.. Here in canada a carton of smokes is between $80-$100 bucks.. I tub of tobacco and a box of tubes is about $55 bucks.. That rolls just about a full carton... I buy name brand tobacco but i find that the tube determines the flavor/strength of the smoke.. It's amazing how much smokes have gone up in cost.. I remember being younger visiting family in montana back in 97/98 and I could buy a pack of old gold for $2.25 |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 18201820 United States 10/29/2012 02:04 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yep, started a year or so ago because of the ever increasing prices. I use the organic American Spirit and get the tops filters. I use a machine to roll and the tobacco is the best I've tried. You'll smoke less and once you go organic and natural all packaged cigs taste disgusting, you really notice the chemicals they add, especially the metallic taste. The organic pouch costs me about $7.49 and lasts more than a week usually but then I don't smoke much. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1303612 I do exactly this too. I prefer the taste of the pre-rolled American Spirit though, rolling your own is MUCH cheaper. |

N.O.S. (nli) User ID: 16941193 Serbia 10/29/2012 03:00 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I roll my own cigs. I buy organic rolling tobacco directly form tobacco producers. The price is ~17€ for 1kg (~35.2oz). The price differs slightly depending on the type of tobacco and there quite few types to choose from where I'm from. 100g of rolling tobacco, which is how much I usualy buy at once, lasts me more than a week. Sometimes I buy different types of rolling tobacco and mix them to make my own blend of RYO cigs :) If one wants to smoke, this way of smoking saves money, and is healthier then industrial filter cigs. |
