Happened where i live to a guy I grew up with had a rifle and his mom called police thinking they would help her with hersuicidal son. They ended up shooting him a lot because he came outside with his rifle. Never call the cops if you want your armed family member to end up alive.

Can't always blame the cops in these situations, they want to go home at the end of the day too. It does seem they are pretty trigger happy these days though.

Holy shit. One time my ex girlfriends crazy little brother grabbed his dad's .38 snub nose and threatened to kill himself with it. I was much younger then and knew of nothing to do but call the police. 10-12 cop cars showed up and talked him down. He was arrested and luckily no one was hurt. This was years and years ago but it was a very similar situation. I'm glad he wasn't killed but as it turns out he has never gotten "better" still stealing and doing hard drugs, in and out of rehab etc.
