No, the plan was to get him elected in the first place. We needed an African American in office to show people the color of our skin are just our shells.
The 2nd part of the plan was to get him re-elected, so he could follow through on trying to unite us as a country and not divide us, as his opponents in the GOP are trying to do.
He was chosen in the late 90s for this role. And for re-election. We all knew he'd face obstacles in his presidency, we all knew he would be in for a fight.
