If Geryl is actually right, then it does not matter and you might as well just enjoy life such as it is. Unless you plan on moving to the top of Mount Everest.

Absolutely...enjoy life. Just pointing out that we may indeed know when the end comes, in direct contrast to those who say (generally on religious grounds) that we cannot.

He's an interesting cat, but very sure of himself. I'm cautious of anyone who speaks in absolutes and does not allow for the possibility that they can be wrong or incorrect.

If you are familiar with him post one of his most intriguing interviews/presentations that he's given so that others can check out his work.

Not sure why people don't see this for what it is, either. What Geryl has said is exactly what's happening.

On average the number of earthquakes that will strike each year include: 1 earthquake of magnitude 8 or larger; 17 earthquakes of magnitudes ranging from 7 to 7.9; 134 earthquakes of magnitudes ranging from 6 to 6.9; and 1,319 earthquakes of magnitudes 5 to 5.9.


Statistically speaking we are still "due" another six 7-7.9 magnitude earthquakes in the next 7 wks…by the end of the year if we want to keep in the "average" range . Actually by looking at the USGS website we actually have a lower count of earthquakes in all but one of the magnitudes this year than in the past several years and that one is still within "average" range!

Geryl is just looking at historical data. He predicted a ton of earthquakes leading up to 10/21 because historically we are due for them!!

According to Wikipedia, the number of 7.0+ earthquakes is much lower than that. Also, you will see if you go to other Patrick Geryl threads, that he has a very narrow (two days) of when he predicts earthquakes to hit.

Anyway, time will tell if he's right -- and I just hope he isn't as he is predicting a 10-plus for December 21st!

ok look, he's not the only one using Geo and Helio centric alignment to predict earth quakes
a)it's been going on for centuries it's just that modern science chooses to ignore the learnings of ancient astronomers and
b)those other Geo and Helio centric observers aren't forecasting mag 10 disasters at the end of the year.

Look at Suspicious0berserver for instance, he highlighted this period as the next quake watch based on alignments and hey presto, earthquake.
He's saying stuff is going to happen, and that it might be very bad, but he's not "prophesing" what will actually happen and he's saying it's over a period upto and beyond the end of the year, rather than 21st Dec big doom....

I'm not saying Patrick is wrong, and it's right with his track record to be aware of what he says is going to happen, but equally people using the same methods are saying something slightly different.

Geryl's reply to being questioned is, "My predictions are so spectacular, they can't possibly be wrong."

Also, about 150 earthquakes between a 6.0 and 7.0 happen every year. Saying there's going to be a 6.0-7.0 earthquake within a week of a given date is almost guaranteed to be right. :L

They are in Spain; the Sierra Nevada mountains. I was a member of the Lifeboat Community. Geryl is a nut.

I watched that interview too.
He seemed very convinced and was very convincing, but the two interviewers weren't that impressed at all. They remained skeptics.

Yes, he does speak in absolutes.
He is extremely sure of himself, that's why I am skeptical.
Any actual scientist would still hesitate, even if his findings seemed very likely to be correct. Very likely doesn't mean "absolutely certain." How can anyone, basing himself on scientific findings and measurements, be "absolutely sure" of anyhing ? Human beings have been known to overlook one thing or the other and I bet Geryl is no exception.

So, when do we all die? The 21st?

But why are you saying he is a nut ?
Maybe he is after all, but he is not stupid, he is very intelligent. He might turn out to be somewhat like that "nut" character in the movie 2012.
