And sometimes, that means just holding your ground.

The recent hurricane aftermath is a good case study in all this. Why do people care about the suffering? Why do the suffering try to stay alive? How can they lose everything and still give out of their dire need to even feed a stray dog? Times like these show beyond dispute that this life is much more than meets the eye, and that the meaning of life comes from the conviction that this is only the beginning, a test of character and endurance.

We have to believe that this is only the beginning. We also have to believe that we won't be around to witness all of it. Thus the mystery. Thus the steadfast.

Completely agree. The world truly is screwed as the AC said, but God will not allow it to go on like this much longer. In fact, I see this "election" as the final straw, the signal that "there is no more delay". Financial, political, natural, and spiritual indicators are all blinking red and sounding the alarm buzzer.

When I first came here, I posted some threads on the gospel and the prophetic sequence, partly as a last-minute appeal to the lost, and partly as something the "left behind" might remember and be ultimately saved. Knowing what's about to happen should be a fire lit under every Christian to spread the gospel in these final minutes.

It's funny... I've been in more Christian message boards than I can remember, and several political boards, plus a few conspiracy ones, but GLP of all places has been the one where I've felt at all comfortable. Most Christians ban me or encourage me to leave, and most others hate Christians or libertarians so much they can't help but continually rage and flame. That happens somewhat here, but not close to the same amount, and the Christians here have largely been more affirming and reasonable. I have to think it's due to the kind of Christians that would even come here, like the kind who would go to ghettos or third-world countries to help the poor.

As Jesus put it, it's the sick who need a doctor, not the well. I can only hope that one or two people have been positively impacted by something I said.
