Completely agree. The world truly is screwed as the AC said, but God will not allow it to go on like this much longer. In fact, I see this "election" as the final straw, the signal that "there is no more delay". Financial, political, natural, and spiritual indicators are all blinking red and sounding the alarm buzzer.

When I first came here, I posted some threads on the gospel and the prophetic sequence, partly as a last-minute appeal to the lost, and partly as something the "left behind" might remember and be ultimately saved. Knowing what's about to happen should be a fire lit under every Christian to spread the gospel in these final minutes.

It's funny... I've been in more Christian message boards than I can remember, and several political boards, plus a few conspiracy ones, but GLP of all places has been the one where I've felt at all comfortable. Most Christians ban me or encourage me to leave, and most others hate Christians or libertarians so much they can't help but continually rage and flame. That happens somewhat here, but not close to the same amount, and the Christians here have largely been more affirming and reasonable. I have to think it's due to the kind of Christians that would even come here, like the kind who would go to ghettos or third-world countries to help the poor.

As Jesus put it, it's the sick who need a doctor, not the well. I can only hope that one or two people have been positively impacted by something I said.

Sure, well, one of them is right here. Me.

I was raised a christian. Raised on Keith Green's music. In and out of the Baptist, Assembly of God, and finally non-denominational churches.

But, I don't consider myself a 'Christian' per se. I've seen Christianity's influence in America fall so far in such a short period of time...it's breathtaking.

I see Churches focused on Materialistic success, calling that 'gifts' from God. I see other churches preaching to 'obey' the government regardless of the morality of law...that this idea is Biblical.

I departed from that way to seek a better understanding of myself and the nature of the infinite mystery of this world.

I found a philosophy that I couldn't argue with. One that was solely focused on eliminating personal history. One that recognized that personal history is what ties us to our fellow man.

I follow this philosophy because it is the closest thing to my childhood view of what a devout christian should be like. In the world. Not of the world.

The only way to be that way is to eliminate personal history by the use of minimizing self-importance, taking responsibility for one's acts, and using death as an adviser.

Instead of praying, I should try to seek the discipline of a silent mind. Instead of talking to 'God', we should try listening to him.

And it takes tremendous self discipline to stop talking to ourselves about ourselves and focus our awareness on our connecting link with spiritual intent.
