"HOLA" So now that the alien invasion doomtardium is squelched, it is now fashionable to race about searching for potassium iodide because it "hit you" that there is a reason to fear nuclear doomtardium?

cesium-137
strontium-90
and plenty more
????

surely you haven't fallen for that bullshit about taking potassium iodine tablets and think you'll be saved

you could try ex-rad but don't think the military is sharing that one just at the moment ;)

Glacial rock dust from very old granite Quatrz high in mica was used very successfully at chernobyl(SP?). high in zeolites and other products. try typing in the proper name for Chernobyl, soil remediation, glacial rock dust, and radiation, Ukraine(SP?) old and dylsexic...
they feed 1-5 grams a day. called it significant.

add Coral calciums and lots of magnesium citrate to keep the bones as well feed as possible to prevent uptake of cesium's and strontium's.

Do you have your potassium iodide tablets handy?

I am guessing you do not.
In fact, it is obvious you are just now learning how things work.
Good luck to you.
However, I fear it is too late for you to acquire the needed knowledge to effect your survival.

Take a dose now folks, the radiation in the upper atmosphere comes down with the precipitation. This storm on the east is most likely contaminated.

From FDA guidance on shelf-life extension, studies over many years have confirmed that none of the components of KI tablets, including the active ingredient, has any significant potential for chemical degradation or interaction with other components or with components of the container closure system when stored according to labeled directions.

Assuming plants melt down, why would anyone not living north or east of the affected plant be in trouble?

Wouldn't the fallout head towards the UK and Europe and only affect a small population of people in the States?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 10957384

Wisconsin is surrounded by Nuclear power plants.
Lake Michigan, the Mississippi River and Illinois plants to the South.

A couple are among the oldest in the country, first fired up in the early 1970's.

The timimg of this article is synchronistic for me in a way also.
Yesterday I was informing my mom of all the "weather anomalies" since she has learned about "weather manipulation" recently... and I told her that even though the storm was mostly talked about having effects on the East Coast in through Ohio or so, that for us, (living in the Chicago suburbs) there still a possibility that there could be "Doom" in relation to ALL the Nuke Plants in the area!

I also recently learned what was posted above about how "old" these facilities are and now I will admit I am nervous about this!

There are 6 Nuke Plants locally We have more to have concern about. This amount is MORE then most people in the U.S. has too. Naionally averaging about 1 or 2 near them I would guess!

Anyhow, my mom was giving me a bit of a hard time a few months ago, by telling me I was "over reacting", when I had purchased a 30 Potassium Iodide supply for all 5 of us in the family. She laughed when I mentioned "nuclear fallout" and seriously told me I had been watching to much t.v. I dont think I told her how many plants we were close to because at the time, I cant remember if I even knew... Now just a yesterday I informed her and she "appologized" and "thanked" me for looking out! It made me smile! :)

It's weird though too OP because like you, I have been recently thinking of them MORE often then I ever have... Almost to the point it feels like my subconcious "knows" I am going to USE them! Godspeed! hf

Interesting timing:

"Nuclear plant maintenance to add 650 temp jobs"
[link to www.channel3000.com]

"An upcoming shutdown is expected to temporarily employ about 650 people...Kewaunee nuclear plant will shut down next year, the Point Beach plant has contracts to sell electricity until its licenses expire in 2030 and 2033."

Re: Are your potassium iodide tablets within reach? Nuclear Doom?
My friend's mother is a doctor. Now she's not a conspiracy nut, totally normal regular-type person. Out of the blue she SUDDENLY made 'emergency' kits for her husband and children and close family friends, containing anti-virus masks, iodine tablets, antibiotics, candles, matches, flares and other things. It's a little unsettling. Even someone like her thinks that things are going to get bad very, very soon. Especially since we live in an area that would be most likely to suffer a 'dirty bomb' type attack (NYC)

Re: Are your potassium iodide tablets within reach? Nuclear Doom?
Every few months or so I visit my primary bug-out location to rotate stock.
As usual, I grabbed some 5-year old cans of preps and replaced them with newer cans.

When I was leaving, I had an overwhelming notion to grab my potassium iodide tablets and take them with me.

I was in my vehicle ready to leave when it hit me so strong, I turned off the vehicle and went back inside to access my stash.

It is no easy task to move the stove, remove the floorboards and gain access to my hidden cache,
and I had just done this, but the urge was so strong I did it again and retrieved my KI pills.

I sure hope this was common doom-paranoia and not inspiration,
but I thought I'd pass it along as KI pills are only good if one has them on-hand.

Good luck people.
Fortune favours the prepared.

EDIT: to add 'Doom' to thread title. LoL.

I dont need any pills, I simply use betadine and it gets absorbed through the skin, cheap and safer than taking the pills
