EMPOWERING THE POOR by giving them jobs, the opportunity to make themselves better, and less dependent on the Government, is not part of the Democrat game plan.

And here's a perfect example of how Republican logic fails. "We want less government." "Government can't solve the problem. Government is the problem." But now Mitt Romney is going to empower the poor if he's elected President? Just look at how he's purportedly going to do it and you see how assinine your philosophy is: let's make poor people powerful by giving a bunch of money to rich people, who will then find a way to get that money to poor people."

Last time I checked, rich people tend to find a way to get their extra money to their Caymen Islands bank accounts. It's the reason that the economy was relatively stagnant over the past decade despite the real estate bubble. It's the reason that the real estate bubble burst. Rich people do not consume at the same rate as poor people. By definition, poor people who live paycheck to paycheck spend almost 100% of their income. Rich people don't. They save 5 or 10 or 20% of their income. And while savings has a VERY important function in a healthy economy, you don't stimulate growth by giving the top 10% more to put in their savings. The most patriotic thing we can do as Americans is come together and recognize that we need to pay for the government that Ronald Reagan and George Bush and Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and Barack Obama bought.

The two party system is broken. This thread more than shows that both Republicans and Democrats have been bought and paid for by greedy people who don't give a damn about America. The only responsible vote this election is for a third party candidate.
