Did anyone catch the large star or planet that was above the Moon 11-1-12? I actually saw one large star directly above the Moon and one blinking object above and to the right of the Moon.

Do you have any idea what it was? Can you see it tonight from your location? If it was a star or planet it should still be near the Moon. The sky is too hazy here tonight to even see the Moon.

what's odd tho, is last night, here in NM, it was super cloudy over the moon.. looked like, i dunno, a cheezey werewolf movie right.. couldn't see a single star in the sky EXCEPT for jupiter (assuming) was clear as day, burning right through the cloud cover

I was on kilimajaro for the last full moon and holy crap was it bright! The air was thin and clear and the moonlight was more than enough to navigate rocks in the dark and it cast deep shadows. Headlamp not required to pee in the middle of the night lol;)

It has been pretty much a solid wall of cloud cover here for a week and a half, with 3 1/2 days of rain even before the remnants of Sandy came through. So nope I haven't been able to get a glimpse of the heavens, hopefully soon :)
