Today I watched the episode when Data created Lal. She was his daughter. I've seen it before; but when you see stuff that was cool as a kid and then revisit it later in life you see it in a different light. Towards the end when Lal was dying: She says: "Thank you for my life." Then she tells Data that she loves him. He tells her that he can't feel love. I remember watching them when I was only a few years old, but now... later in life... it has definitely been a joy and mind-uplifing experience to revisit them. Given the nature of your posts here on GLP (all of which, I've enjoyed/benefitted from greatly)... you might want to check out this article. It definitely put an entirely "new" perspective on the narrative/thematic-situations in the series for me.
