No, the penny is to achieve the correct pressurisation of alcohol vapor, it has nothing to do with "saving" by avoiding evaporation. The Penny Alcohol Stove is a slightly different design from the one in the video. |

I could not see if that had insulation in it or not but i have found that they work better with insulation to help conduct the heat. |
