The Sumerians were the masters of math and the sciences(they were playing the harp well before the Greeks were even on the scene.)
A sumerian harp was excavated and dated to c.3500 bc.

Greek civilization only borrowed what was already established many centuries before their existence.

This is also true for the Egyptians. We should all thank the Sumerians for their gifts to humanity.
