Lots of wealth tends to have us all behaving in certain ways. Even I, as a Marxist...were I filthy rich, I would be no better. It has nothing to do with the devil but rather the fact that we live in a society that elevates the rich to demi-god status. Not a "christian" here, but these words from mathew ring truth. The corruption of the church is the very thing jesus raged against -- that, and the moneychangers.
