Re: As Christians should you be celebrating Halloween*question mark*
We all have sticks in the eye to one degree or another do we not?

Do we personally know everyones circumstance enough to break a commandment of Almighty God and bear false witness of someones actions even when it comes to all saints day?

God is the judge, not us. Teaching reverence for God using our own chastisement or opinions does not typically work very well. We can witness this by many of the replies to this thread.

Christ would have us feed His sheep, not flog them.
 Quoting: Brogan

Christ didnt mince words..He loved the sinners..but not the sin..He taught with love except when it came to sins against the Holy Spirit..Against the Father..

I am not flogging..I am giving my opinion..I have been waiting all day for someone to post a thread about this..maybe they did..I didnt see it..so I decided to post

Yes your opinion is precisely the point and why there is animosty for Christ being voiced right here in this thread. You may not realize it but these approaches serve satan to turn some away more than they do Almighty God. This why we teach using His Word which is perfect, and not our own.

Re: As Christians should you be celebrating Halloween*question mark*
It is tradition, older than Christianity. In the old days, people wore masks to frighten away evil spirits and death itself. Death came from the winter solice and winter itself. If you weren't able to grow enough food in the summer, you and your family died. The food you were able to grow often didn't last until spring and people resorted to fishing, hunting. Starvation and death happened more in the winter.
Holloween is an innocent event. It isn't a celebration of evil. Christians make too big a dael about it and give it more power than they need to.

Yes you should
Celebrate the dark and the light
We are one
Transcend all energy that does not serve anymore
Love yourselves and love your enemy
It's only a fun day to embrace your fears and laugh at them
Who gives a shit anymore
The end is near and the game is up

Sometimes it takes just one chosen word to change the entire tone of a message.

You said it yourself in that God does not mince Words. He will get the job done, and many will turn against Him on His Word alone. But let Him do the speaking for it is His Word that the Holy Spirit will impress upon who He so chooses and not our own.

Get the Word out, but step to the side and love those in Christ that may not get it or know not what they do. Set the example and be the best disciple for Christ that we can personally be while He is away, always seeking our rest in Him.

Blessings.

Any empaths here *q.m* you know what I am talking about..
 Quoting: wildhoney

I am an empath. There is nothing wrong with Halloween. Every light casts a shadow. If all the saints and all the dead want to come out in the long shadows and scattering leaves, let them.

You white light christians make a mockery of your religion by making up your own sanitized version and refusing to look into the dark places. That's not what your Jesus did. Your church creed says he died and descended into hell. So why are you so afraid of a holiday that celebrates the dead?

Accept the whole of existence to be holy. The dark night as well as the bright day. The dying autumn as well as the budding spring.

What's wrong with Christianity today is it has become unbalanced. Christians refuse their shadows. They have no depth. Worse, they project their shadow material onto Muslims, aliens, demons, and other swarthy types, lol!

Grow up. Be whole. Have a happy Halloween.

I don't think Jesus would be too upset about people celebrating Halloween because he was nonjudgemental. When people wanted to stone a certain women he told them let those without sin cast the first stone. No one could stone her because they were all guilty of sin. Jesus liked to celebrate. He went to wedding parties and turned water into wine. He also forgave a murderer over a thief but condemned anyone who hurt a child and promised those that hurt innocent children everlasting hell fire.

Of course He did..and I would bet he was jovial and great company..but I doubt He would have participated in this..

To spin this and say Christ would dress up as a demon or vampire...thats taking it a bit far..sure we are in the anything goes world..but some how I doubt he would very much indeed..lol

With the woman that was going to be stoned to death..He could have said..Gosh why should I stick my neck out..she probably is a w..re and deserves it..besides it is the Law..
Let them stone her..

But He didnt..He defended her because that is Christ/

He didnt care what others would think of Him..He spoke His mind..and said and did what He had to do

He didnt come here to be popular..or politically correct..He came here to set the record straight no matter the price..

Re: As Christians should you be celebrating Halloween*question mark*
Do research on the history of Halloween and you will find it started back in the 600's and it was to celebrate martyrs who have died. It's original name was All Saints Eve and was celebrated in May. Through the centuries the name and date has changed into what it is today. It is people who make it evil. It is also a chance for you to show love and kindness to others by your giving. I allow my child to participate, provided she wears nothing evil.
John 3:16 - For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Psalm 141:10 - Let the wicked fall into thier own nets, While I escape safely.

It does stop some of them. More need to open their eyes. And the churches who condone this satanic religious holiday out to be ashamed of themselves because they aren't following Jesus.

Going to a Halloween party and hanging with friends is not "practicing or celebrating". I'm sure Christ will not pull the lever and send you down the Hell chute, because that's just plain stupid. He knows each of us, and why we do what we do. If you go out and sacrifice small animals on an altar, that's bad. If you participate in an Americanized, water-down, tacky-ass event like the one most will attend tonight, you are not sinning. You are living your life and hanging with friends.

As a "christian", I would not go to parties.
But as a disciple of Christ, I go anywhere I choose. I have the discernment necessary to make decisions, and those decisions suit me. And judgement from others means nothing. Only He matters.

Christmas(Saturnalia) is a pagan holiday Easter or "Ishtar" is a pagan holiday so why single out Halloween where all you do is eat candy. In fact so many Christian practices and traditions are based on pagan roots.
