You work 20 hours a week ffs and you clear 700 plus a week and your moaning ? Thats two shifts in a restaurant a week for which I would have earnt 30 quid (15 quid a shift not inc tips say 35 ro 45 each shift - total 120) and I kept a flat at 85 quid a week going.

Agreed, the people who flock here are often hard working people like us. It's not about the individuals though, it is about the policy that lets them come here. Why do we have immigration if we do not have work posts to fill. We actually have high unemployment (particularly youth)!

10 years ago I had a bloody good job with Social Services I was permanantly on call all w/e , with a rota too.....was reimbursed for this well too , mileage etc.....then I was told my excessive wages were "upsetting" the weekday staff.....so , the pay structure was changed , oh yes!! all of a sudden I was working all fucking w/e , leaving my kids with their dad......for 80.00 less a weekthe staff who only worked weekdays were delighted to receive a rise!!

I dealt with this and ended up with full pay for 2 years and not working.....he he!!

I dont work now as I have since had another child who has a disability and through no fault of my own I am raising him alone.....the benefits I receive allow me to feed and clothe him in the manner I would if I were working , I must stress I do not smoke, drink or waste money as I respect the money I am given and allocate it for what it should be used for......I would like to work but have been told by Jobcentre I am exempt from renumerative work as long as I receive the DLA/Carer's Allowance for my son....

Its a different world out there now , people seem to think a mobile phone/car/social life are as important as a warm home/food/paying rent......on a recent statistic survey one of the things listed alongside rent/bills/food was "entertainment" and the average home spent 60/80 pounds a week on it.....WTF?

OP , the only way you would get any financial help is to split with your partner....well , if you can say you are at an alternative address the Social will pay for her and any dependants , you can still work and hopefully hold body and soul together.....I do hope it all works out for you....
