Castoreum is made from secretions that come from the castor sacs of a beaver's anus. This flavoring is used in many vanilla and raspberry flavorings. You usually won't see castoreum on the label, because it's listed as "natural flavoring." Dehydrated fish bladders in beers Some beers use an ingredient called isinglass, which is made from dried fish bladders. Maggots and mites in canned mushrooms The FDA legally allows 19 maggots and 74 mites in a 3.5-ounce can of mushrooms. Hoffmann has described the odour of Siberian castoreum like this: "It is sharp and burning with a creosote or tar-like note, reminiscent of the 'glowing' odour emanating from birch tar or Russian leather." When diluted in alcohol, castoreum smells more pleasantly, with musky and fruity notes becoming perceptible. " We all breathe the same air. .-.. --- ...- . / .- .-.. .-.. |

Natural vanilla flavor, why that's made from vanilla beans. OP is full of fail. Lol, not all of them. And yes I remember the o-chem labs where we made all those artificial flavors out of esters and ketones as well. I think it's safe to say that there's no perfume without musk. Musk tincture smells animalic, sweet and ammoniacal. But the more one studies its character, the more contrasting, vibrant and oscillating it becomes: repulsive-attractive, chemical-warm, sweaty-balmy, acrid-waxy, earthy-powdery, fatty-chocolate like, pungent-leathery, resinous-spicy, fig-like, dry, nutty, and woody. Originally the musk was obtained from the male musk deer. The internal pouches found between the hind legs had an intesely smelling secretion. To harvest the secretion the animal was hunted. To obtain 1 kilo of musk grains between 30 and 50 animals had to be sacrificed. Musk tinctures were still used in perfumery till about 1979, when musk deers were protected form extinction by the Conention on International Trade in Endagnered species of wild fauna and flora(CITES)" |

[link to www.wtae.com] I have made nutrition my life basically for the past 10 years and will attest to all of the above. I know lots about this subject. I've avoided anything labeled "natural flavours" or "natural colours" for about five years now, and let me tell you, it's not easy, but it is essential. "Natural Flavours" is a blanket name for a whole host of chemically processed ingredients that may somewhere down the line have been derived from something natural. Like MSG for example - highly chemically processed but originated from seaweed, so it can be legally called a "natural flavour". I avoid anything with "natural flavours" or "spices" listed on the ingredients. These things can be anything, and I mean anything. The sad deception of it all is that almost everything "healthy" contains these ingredients...including some organic products. Even most 100% juices contain "natural flavour" and they boast it on their labels...."WITH NATURAL FLAVOURS!!"......yeah right. No thank you. If the ingredients on the label are not something you have in your pantry (or would potentially have if you had a pantry), don't buy it. Don't eat it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Resident Led Zeppelin Expert (ask me anything!) Traveler of both time and space Fuck Trudeau. mRNA-Free and Proud.
