Office of Conservation Orders Texas Brine to Take Further Steps to Protect Public Safety

The new orders under the existing Declaration of Emergency and Directive also specifically require Texas Brine to install in-home monitors to detect possible natural gas accumulations and to upgrade home ventilation for all slab-foundation buildings within the Bayou Corne evacuation area established by Assumption Parish. These additional orders are needed because of the potential for methane accumulation connected to the failure of Texas Brine’s nearby brine mining cavern.

And from today's update:
Observation Well #2 has been re-perforated and there is pressure present. A flare stack will be installed and we will update accordingly.

Also, we’ve been informed that 3 trees that were standing where the last slough in occurred, have fallen into the sinkhole.

New 1.5 mile oil sheen found at site of BP DWH in Mississippi Canyon. Something is making the seabed fracture more and the oil is released, IMO.

Thread: Another mysterious explosion

i am slightly less concerned that the south side indy explosions are related to new madrid at this point as it seems it's going to wind up being ins fraud. we still don't know for sure and who knows, those people could be set up. it wouldn't really be that hard to target a home with financial and marital difficulties, now would it? not in this day and age where every bit of info about you is pretty much available to even the general public, let alone the govt.

BUT, no matter the cause of the explosions, it was a good kick in the pants reminder to prepare bug out bags. those folks in that neighborhood were loaded onto buses and not even allowed to leave in their own vehicles. that possibility really didn't cross my mind!

stay safe everyone and stay on top of this - it's not science fiction, it's gonna blow sooner or later i believe.

I keep telling you guys...BP Macondo GOM Oil Spill incident has cracked the sea floor bed and allowed sea water to breach a Methane Hydrate pocket that has since been transforming into Methane Gas. This process can last as long as the amount found in the pocket, that gas has to come up somewhere. I think this is exactly what is going on here.

Tuesday afternoon, from a boat on Bayou Corne, where a Crosstex pipeline crosses the troubled waterway, the chemical stench was so strong, it felt like it was tasted, according to Deborah Dupré, two other passengers and the pilot of the boat.

“At first, I though it was diesel,” the boat pilot said, preferring to remain unnamed. “It also smells like asphalt or tar, what we put on houses when we put the roof on.”

The others on the boat agreed that the foul chemical was so “thick” and strong, they felt they were “tasting” it.
