*BREAKING*
FEMA has just reported that they are preparing for Hurricane Sandy to disrupt next Tuesday’s Presidential elections.

I had a feeling something like this would be tried.

Totally. You know they will do everything they can to postpone it, there's been hints of it ever since Sandy rolled in.

There's been hints of it before Sandy rolled in.

This is why you should read the thread I made during the debates. It might help you expand further on your thoughts.

Here are excerpts:

"What will happen however is that there is going to be an event. That event will cause a great deal of confusion as to what is truly taking place. Those who haven't been paying attention all this while will seriously be in Limbo. Obama will act as the charismatic leader in the middle of this. Last night's debate was intended to portray him in this light - a strong person that can still remain president. This will be the thought process of the unaware masses when elections are cancelled."

Does this look eerily similar to what is unfolding right in front of our very eyes? How did I know, yet the MSM tells you that no one saw this coming? But I still think Sandy is just a Primer. Something bigger is coming.

Just to let you know that this storm is planned and expected, I created this thread last week that Obama will remain president.

READ MORE: Thread: Obama will remain President. Likelihood of chaos whoever wins....This is why!

Also see this explanation as to why Sandy is engineered.

Thread: Sandy Staged to push Global Warming Fraud - Obama's unprecedented response is the clue.

You will see they knew this was coming all along.

Get a friggin grip. The Jersey shore line is not the whole country and the people that live there will be able to vote if they want to. For the areas that don’t have power by Tuesday, all that would be required would be a portable generator. Parts of the subway in New York City are already re-opened and all of Manhattan is expected to have power restored by Saturday. Yes, the storm was bad. Not it isn't the end of the world. Nut up and deal with it.
 Quoting: Resister

Yes, well.

A portable generator is much less debatable than a hanging chad, isn't it?

How do you resolve the missing ballots for our overseas military (downed in some freak-o plane crash)?
Oh, that's right.

We all forgot about that as the hurricane approached.
 Quoting: Miggy

Excellent point. We didn't hear a peep from the media or bleeding heart liberals about postponing an election when the military is directly effected, but their precious blue state has to have an air conditioned buss ride to a spotlessly clean voting booth or it's a national crisis. rolleyes

Re: *RED ALERT: FEMA Making Preparations to Postpone Presidential Elections in Wake of Sandy
I think Christie is extremely stressed and saddened. And it shows. He is in an impossible position and is doing what anyone would do, except Bloomberg, of course.

However - IF you want to consider conspiracy theory, there are 2 things to consider:

1) CC is conceding that Obama will remain Prez and is signaling that by 'warming' up to him publicly.

2) CC made took the odd step of postponing Halloween until Nov. 5, in the midst of chaos and disaster. Could this be a signal the elections are going to be postponed? Food for thought.
 Quoting: Requiemdream

I think he looked frightened at some point. Almost as if he had to play the role of Obama lover. Like he had a gun to his head or something. Like he knew something coming and he had to get with the program.

His attachment to Obama didn't look mutually dependent. Like he really needed to get something from Obama. This is even more troubling when you consider that he, as a republican Obama basher, in line for re-election next year, but yet sulking up to a supposedly outgoing president. It just doesn't add up. Are states that dependent on FED govt?

He's totally discarded his party and Romney. He's sure not getting any favours from Romney unless of course he knows that Obama will be the man he will be getting the favours from.
 Quoting: Ohwell

Why do you think the storm hit Jersey the hardest? For those who believe the storm was engineered and steered...
Christie has been an outspoken supporter of Romney. One of Romney's strengths was that when he was governor of Mass he worked with Dems and Reps and got things done. It has been central to his campaign, and highlights the fact that Obama hasn't been able to get anything done across party lines. Until this storm gave him a platform to advertise him with Christie.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26779708

I agree. All of Obama's storms have hit white areas. Remember Hurricane Irene, it did the impossible and veered around west of NYC thru the suburbs, went up the Hudson Valley and did a lot of damage in Vermont. Or the snowstorm a year ago that hit rural areas hard. For that matter, the snowstorm in WV from Sandy hits rural areas too.

On the other hand, W's big storm was Katrina that was hardest on black area. I don't mean to say O is better or worse than W. They are both horrible. They were both small, unaccomplished men when they became President.

But Romney is a man of ability and accomplishment. I think he will be better.

Regardless of what happens in NJ, it wasn't considered a swing state, so it's probably not a big deal election wise. I do feel sorry for those along the Jersey shore whose properties were wiped out.

I see it more as CC wanting IMMEDIATE assistance from national guard and federal funds. It will be interesting to watch as time marches by and not much gets done but I just see it as CC doing his job.

Now postponing Halloween is strange. One would think it would just be cancelled instead of postponed. It's hardly a national holiday. It would be the last thing on my mind under those circumstances.
 Quoting: Bluebird

Obama is currently promising everything to everybody, and cracking the whip on "his people" to return all phone calls in 15 minutes. That isn't so impressive, but it is impressive coming from him, much better than he's done for 3.9 years so far.

What happens to all that stuff he promised, the day after election day? I wouldn't count on it materializing if it's not already in place on that day.

until 100 years ago, people who wanted to vote walked or got on a hores and rode miles to the county seat to vote--now they wont vote unless the freelunchvote bus picks them up at theur house and gives them a chicken box.

if you want to vote, you will get there
someplace dry can be found to set up the machines and run them with a small generator if necessary

Election day is "the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November every second year" according to the Constitution--that requires an amendment, ratified by leggislatures of 3/4 of the states to change--and the war between the states didn't stop voting in 1864 when Lincoln was re-elected on "don't change horses in the middle of a stream"

The would-be Emperor Obama's Executive Order can alter that--but not make the change legitimate.

I like how you get your news from bloggers who write headlines in the form of a question: "will Obama declare marshall law and disrupt the election?"

Fox does it all the time because, you see speculative opinion can pass itself off as news to low information viewers. And then you come to GLP and post it as news and then you get a pin, 5 stars and 10 bumps! Congratulations!

Re: *RED ALERT: FEMA Making Preparations to Postpone Presidential Elections in Wake of Sandy
Logistically, the situation does open the door to a ready-made election dispute.

1) every eligible American should have the opportunity to vote
2) voting has been zoned to specific districts based upon the voter's location of residence.
3) voting is allowed only in credentialed and previously advertised polling locations, each within their respective district.
4) States can postpone elections ONLY for State-level offices
5) Only Congress can change the date of National elections
6) Congress is currently on leave
7) a large majority of the populous have no clear understanding of the Electoral College (be it right or wrong), and believe their individual vote counts towards a National Election with the same gravity as in local elections

For those who have been displaced by the storm, the creation of new voting precincts would have to be:
a) generally located for those within a specific effected area
b) reasonably advertised for those within the area
c) reasonably accessible for those within the area

Considering these, it would almost seem a win-win position to allow the elections to continue as planned, and here's why;

All it takes is one (1) district not being able to vote, and
the moment that election results begin to show Obama losing, there would be an immediate deluge of town criers refuting the results since their populous did not have the proper notification/ location/ opportunity, etc. to exercise their civic responsibilities.

The compiling legal cases that would (will) arise could keep the final results tied up in courts for months at the least. These cases could call for re-counts, possible disqualifications, and even a nullification of the election results (remember - most people still believe the popular vote decides the winner).

This particular event would make the disputes in Florida during the 2000 elections pale by comparison, and due to the number of people not able to cast their vote, it could well allow Obama to remain in office until a clear(?) winner has been decided upon, with the possibilities of re-counts, and even the possibilities of a secondary election process (if the prior was nullified due to constituents not being able to vote).

Postponing elections would be the easiest for the Obama Administration, as once they have made historical changes by announcing an open postponement (no exact date announced - "when we have restored order and civility"), that can could be kicked down the road for quite a distance.

Make no mistake - this is a mess, and will grow like a cancer to continue to be a greater mess for some time to come - regardless of what positions are taken to either pursue or delay voting - and anyone who pushes for elections to move forward on 06 Nov 12 will be labeled as a heartless, inconsiderate, racist, right-winger who hates America.

Lol since when has Obama cared about the Constitution...
And anytime he has ignored it he puts congress in a corner because he took all their power. (They don't matter in decision making when he's set on it.)

This is why its so important for people to realized we are a republic lol...ITs like NO one knows this so it doesn't matter even if it is.

Even sneezing at the way he has at the constitution is treason.

But hey thats just crazy old Ancient America right....who needs it.

The Florida disaster and "hanging chad" showed that it can be delayed BY THE STATE as long as the votes are counted before the electoral college meets. FEMA can't postpone the election, because the Constitution has no clause to give them or anyone else in DC that power. Only the state can delay their election, and that doess not effect any other state. FUCK FEMA!

Surprise. Surprise. How convenient for "der Fuhrer". Think Romney will sit back and let them postpone this indefinitely? Should be interesting.

I say lock them both in a cage and let them fight it out. Whichever one is left standing is the new President. We'll let NYC know who wins when the power is restored! It's only fair.

Sadly, they'd probably rig the cage match as well. Believe only what you see with your own eyes, and even then...QUESTION!

It is very ridiculous for anyone to still think or want to vote in this election especially after just barely escaping with their lives in this storm. The country barely escaped death and the next thing on their minds is their ritual?

Would anyone of these people crying about elections still do so if they were among the dead in this storm? Continuing in this election is complete disrespect to oneself, their fellow country men and complete disregard for the lives lost.

Assuming this storm was even natural, how did you know that nature didn't intend on wiping out a huge chunk of US. Or where you able to tame nature so that it could do it's thing but still leave room for you to have your election? You barely escaped with your lives and the next thing you want is your election. You guys should be sober and be in a state of reflection now, but NO!

Sometimes, you cant help but think these people deserve what's coming to them.

No, my friend - if elections are pursued as scheduled, I believe it will be much, much, longer as a result of the then-pending disputes, calls for re-counts, and even litigation involved.

So is the operation of Congress via a budget! That has not stopped Congress from operating without one for 2 years now.

It is in the U.S. Constitution that they can not convene without a budget in place (from the previous session) but they just over look it.

You would think Ron Paul would have said something about his participation in that anti Constitutional act...since he is sooo Constitutional!
