I don't think they can do it. They would have to go to the supreme court because of constitutional reasons. It is a constitution law.

So is the operation of Congress via a budget! That has not stopped Congress from operating without one for 2 years now.

It is in the U.S. Constitution that they can not convene without a budget in place (from the previous session) but they just over look it.

You would think Ron Paul would have said something about his participation in that anti Constitutional act...since he is sooo Constitutional!

This is what galls me the most: the silence of our so-called elected representatives. Nothing ever really changes, nobody who really calls the shots is ever held to account. Everything is a show for the unwashed masses.
Have I now become your enemy by telling you the truth? (Gal. 4:16)

I don't think they are going to postpone the elections (at least not National Elections), but I think we may not know who won certain states for a few days...
 Quoting: Saddletramp

Yeah the problem being those "states" that will be delayed are the ones that determine the winner! Because of the Electoral College (a brilliant method of election btw) the popular vote doesn't really matter. IT is the "convention" of the Electoral to vote for the Popular winner..BUT.. it comes down to the Secretary of the individual STATES. That can confirm or deny the vote. Remember Katherine Harris.. This may come down to a State by State shoot out for certification by the Electoral College. Those States that are close may delay the certification.. there by delaying the election of a President.. until they are SURE..each State has it's own process and timeline. This could go on for a very long time.. and remember SOROS that evil sidekick of the Obama Administration.. he has been hard at work corrupting the process..

Although some say this is more complicated than that...

It is very ridiculous for anyone to still think or want to vote in this election especially after just barely escaping with their lives in this storm. The country barely escaped death and the next thing on their minds is their ritual?

Would anyone of these people crying about elections still do so if they were among the dead in this storm? Continuing in this election is complete disrespect to oneself, their fellow country men and complete disregard for the lives lost.

Assuming this storm was even natural, how did you know that nature didn't intend on wiping out a huge chunk of US. Or where you able to tame nature so that it could do it's thing but still leave room for you to have your election? You barely escaped with your lives and the next thing you want is your election. You guys should be sober and be in a state of reflection now, but NO!

Sometimes, you cant help but think these people deserve what's coming to them.

The devastation is not all over the place, it's mainly along the Jersey shore.

And I think there will be plenty of energy to vote among those people (almost all of them white) even those who have lost homes and possessions, if they are physically able to vote. And means will be provided by their Republican governor for them to vote.

Not that it prolly matters since NJ is expected to go D anyway.

The popular vote is not exactly what is counted, but it's almost always the same as the EC result. Indeed, probabilistically, it's quite hard for candidate A to win the EC if candidate B has say 53% or more of the popular vote, since states don't vote homogeneously.

This whole thing is not THAT big of a deal in NJ, and NJ has a R governor, but it is expected to go D anyway. So if he thinks a delay would help O, I would be extremely surprised if Gov. Christie would allow a delay in NJ.

Military trucks to be deployed to the normal local polling places in need with big "vote here" signs. [link to www.theblaze.com]

Not gonna be postponed people.
"God forbid we should ever be 20 years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, & always, well informed... If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty... Let them take arms... What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots & tyrants. " - Thomas Jefferson in 1787
