*RED ALERT: FEMA Making Preparations to Postpone Presidential Elections in Wake of Sandy

Idiot there is no way to make/control a storm, some of you guys are really going off the deep end on this one!

About 2000 lives lost in Katrina. We had 256 killed on April 27 two years ago here in Alabama by tornadoes.

BTW, two days later bin Laden was killed and so of course we were quickly forgotten.

And Obama didn't "cut the red tape" for us. I guess he only does that for his blue state voters. The rest of us can pound sand. Most divisive POTUS ever.

I think Christie is extremely stressed and saddened. And it shows. He is in an impossible position and is doing what anyone would do, except Bloomberg, of course.

However - IF you want to consider conspiracy theory, there are 2 things to consider:

1) CC is conceding that Obama will remain Prez and is signaling that by 'warming' up to him publicly.

2) CC made took the odd step of postponing Halloween until Nov. 5, in the midst of chaos and disaster. Could this be a signal the elections are going to be postponed? Food for thought.

Like you, I always laughed at the conspiracy regarding weather manipulation.

I'm not laughing any longer.

There are too many people in high places (and not just the government but accredited scientists throughout the world)who have confirmed that it exists and is in use.

Before I left Las Vegas it was finely acknowledged that clouds were indeed being seeded for rain in that area. Up to then I dismissed the "chem-trail" people as having an overly active imagination.

I don't like reading about HAARP. It makes me sick. But it exists. I have to believe it's for a reason.

And while I would have laughed at the idea of a manufactured hurricane just a few years ago I'm not laughing any longer.

The timing of Sandy combined with the numbers suggesting an O upset leads me to believe that this wasn't a coincidence.

Add to that the fact that this storm didn't merit the electricity outages we're seeing nor the time it's taking to restore it, well.....

Not that i agree with the UN but what are they going to be arrested for? you get arrested for breaking the law, what law will they have broken?

The election honestly should be delayed. It wouldn't be fair to the people of the country to hold an election when we are in the middle of a crisis and so many people are not able to vote.

Well, New York is asking the federal government to pay for the whole $6 billion they are claiming.

Personally I didn't apply for any "handout" but once was under the impression that FEMA was to render aid in time of natural disaster. They didn't but the Red Cross and state national guard did.

Eventually with much red tape Fema made low interest loans to those wanting them.

Why do we pay taxes for FEMA if they do so little? Just to make jobs for the bureaucrats who work for it evidently.

There's been hints of it before Sandy rolled in.

I don't think they can do it. They would have to go to the supreme court because of constitutional reasons. It is a constitution law.

FEMA has just reported that they are preparing for Hurricane Sandy to disrupt next Tuesday’s Presidential elections.

Get a friggin grip. The Jersey shore line is not the whole country and the people that live there will be able to vote if they want to. For the areas that don’t have power by Tuesday, all that would be required would be a portable generator. Parts of the subway in New York City are already re-opened and all of Manhattan is expected to have power restored by Saturday. Yes, the storm was bad. Not it isn't the end of the world. Nut up and deal with it.

Christie has been an outspoken supporter of Romney. One of Romney's strengths was that when he was governor of Mass he worked with Dems and Reps and got things done. It has been central to his campaign, and highlights the fact that Obama hasn't been able to get anything done across party lines. Until this storm gave him a platform to advertise him with Christie.

I see it more as CC wanting IMMEDIATE assistance from national guard and federal funds. It will be interesting to watch as time marches by and not much gets done but I just see it as CC doing his job.
