It is very ridiculous for anyone to want to take part in this election especially after just barely escaping with their lives in this storm. The country barely escaped death and the next thing on the people's minds is their ritual? Stop this madness and let the world see that you are sane people.

After all, the storm was a game of probabilities and there was possibly no way of determining the trajectory or its implications. It could have been you who died in that storm. Or did you know enough about the storm that it wont hit you or you engineered it in such a way that it would hit, do some damage but you would still have room to have your elections? Perhaps you negotiated with nature and hope to still do if it decides to show its fury on the day of the elections?

For all you know, vast areas of the country could have been submerged or wiped out and the mere thought of that should make you pause and reflect on what just happened and how you could have been dead at the time you least expected most instead of running along for another election circus.

This storm has been a national test for all Americans to see if they will have feelings and respect for themselves, their lives and that of their fellow men. Even if your leaders are stringing you along, you all should say NO that you need to reflect on what just happened and not get excited with your change of clothes. You could have been dead and you should be thankful at this point.

You just had a close encounter with death and indeed some did die. Would anyone of these people crying about elections or even their politicians still do so if they were among the dead or lost someone close to them? Continuing in this election is complete disrespect to oneself, their fellow country men and complete disregard for the lives lost. It is recklessness at the very least and the path you are on could only lead to destruction.

Assuming this storm was even natural, how did you know that nature didn't intend on wiping out a huge chunk of the US? Or where you able to tame nature so that it could do it's thing but still leave room for you to have your election? You barely escaped with your lives and the next thing you want is your election. You guys should be sober now and stop your leaders from killing you all. The next storm that comes around might just not be gentle and wipe a substantial portions of the population out. Or would you be able to control the trajectory of that too? I wish you all the best.

What number would be ok for you to stop elections?

10, 20, 30, 40 States? Heck, what if the whole 50 states got hit? That would do, wouldn't it?

No, even if all fifty states got clobbered by the storm, I would still have the elections on November 6, 2012.

A storm does not stop this country; a storm does not stop these people; a storm does NOT change the Constitution. If a storm could do all of that, then it tells a sad story about the fate of this country. Some of us may be down, some of us may be hurting, some of us are untouched by the storm, but NEVER should a storm define us as a people and a country!

Those that will have you believe that the storm was so bad that the laws and rules should be set aside to accommodate those that did suffer at it's angst, seem to have little regard for the bonds that make us great. If we as a people defer to those that demand accommodating, we will soon be a nation that is ruled by the few that care not for us all, but only for their own.

Hurriedly going nowhere, eh? LOL!

Can you guarantee that there will be no hailstorm on the 6th of November? That will grind the nation to a halt? I'm sure you were walking around during Sandy, so I should know better.

Reflecting on this storm's impact is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of sanity and looking for that guiding spirit. The path you are on however is that of recklessness and destruction.

Would you still have an election just assuming that Sandy happened on election day? Wouldn't you cuddle in your house hoping to survive.

Or you feel there is zero chance of such a thing happening again? Perhaps you can now control the weather now and tame nature? The candidates you seek to vote for were selected and you simply follow their lead. Like the famous comedian said...the game is rigged and no one seems to care.

People committed suicide on their own volition. They have their reasons. A storm you supposedly couldn't control or time its impact, which had the potential and probability of killing a substantial amount of people just missed you. A lot of people could be dead by now not because they want to. You should be grateful to be alive and sober.

What if a bigger storm strikes on election day that grinds the nation to a halt, after all no one can predict or control. Or are you so certain that the storm will spare you that day to have your ritual?

What you seem to be ignoring is the fact that for over a week, every where you looked on the news, it talked about the upcoming "frankenstorm"; where it was going to hit; what it was going to do, and the risks of life that may occur. For over a week, people had the right and the chance to early vote, clear out of town, or in some way avoid a lot of the problems. The ones that didn't, claimed that they couldn't, or just claimed that they are so stupid that they didn't know or care about what was coming. Even the bedridden people have the right to vote early, and expect a voter helper or family member to help. Everything is in place to vote. There is NO excuse for not voting. Wanting to put it off, just because others might be less willing to actually do something in order to vote is wrong, and is sending the wrong message to everyone else.

I don't care if I had four feet of snow and had to walk uphill for five miles in order to vote, I WILL vote, or I WILL keep my damn mouth shut. The thousands that died so that I will have the right to vote, don't have a voice, but if I refuse to vote, then they all died in vain.

I don't have to have the ability to control the weather to be in control of my rights. Just because you may feel that you are a bit put out by voting, doesn't mean you have a right to demean anyone else who is willing and able to do their citizenship obligation.

So, you could control the weather? What if an earthquake hit? Could you negotiate with mother nature? you just had a narrow miss on almost a national level. The people that died didn't go looking for trouble and it could just have been anyone in the country. People should at least be shaken by a force they cant control and tell if/when it could hit again.

What are you smoking?

In the US 50 people die daily because of Driving Under Influence....

[link to wiki.answers.com]

So a one of event that happens to kill slightly more then the average death count of a day of idiots driving while drunk should be enough reason to postpone elections?

That's almost as insane as saying that it is logical to invade 2 countries, kill hundreds of thousands of people and spent billions in the process as a "retaliation" for killing less people then 2 months worth of DUI deaths (even though your country doesn't even spent a tiny percentage on preventing driving under influence as it does against "terrorism").

DUI is a self inflicted death wish. You pretty much asked for it and its a personal responsibility.

A storm or hurricane is a game of probability with death knocking at your door without you looking for trouble. If I escaped such a thing, I would be sober. Every single person in the US has close to a 50/50 chance of being killed at the time they least expected most.

You only say this because you have predicted over and over that there wouldn't be any elections and martial law would be declared.

Now that elections are so close, and no martial law and cancelled elections, you must resort to shilling for us to willingly want to delay elections....

Yes, anything could and does and has happened on election day. There is always some tragedy somewhere in a country this large. We'd never complete an election if we waited for the perfect time.

That's why it is on a day certain and nothing changes that.

BTW, this is a hurricane and not the end of the world. Almost 2000 died in Katrina and more than this die in a single day of tornadoes every year.

The loss of life is miraculously low and we are blessed in that regard.
One of the most important aspects of conspiracy theories is being able to discern when there isn't one.

Oh yeah, like you'd understand anyway.

Where are we going and why am I in this handbasket?. . .J. Handy

Or would you able to control the trajectory of that too? I wish you all the best.

What are you smoking?

In the US 50 people die daily because of Driving Under Influence....

If the only option that driving yourself against a tree while DUI it wouldn't be an issue indeed.

On average, one person died every 48 minutes in 2009 due to an alcohol-impaired driver.

In 2009, 14 percent of children ages 14 and younger killed in crashes died because of alcohol.

Re: 88 People died in the storm and a number just narrowly missed death. Shouldn't Americans be sober instead of the excitement about elections?
you just had a narrow miss on almost a national level.

Dude, you need to google the U.S. --- it didn't even get close to the Mississippi River and half the country is west of the Mississippi --- so it was a "big" ass miss.

A big ass miss that you could control? But yet killed people that weren't expecting to die? The storm could easily have come your way or any other person's way for that matter. The nature of the unpredictability, uncertainty and lack of control of this storm is the real crux of the matter. It could have been worse and had it been worse would you still be worried about elections?

You only say this because you have predicted over and over that there wouldn't be any elections and martial law would be declared.

Now that elections are so close, and no martial law and cancelled elections, you must resort to shilling for us to willingly want to delay elections....
