I have no idea what your silly link goes to but the last two polls from gallup and rasmussen show romney winning. The reason gallup has been such an outlier is because they are the only ones trying to estimate this years turnout instead of just using the 08 turnout rates as a guide. The dems early numbers are WAY down compared to 08 and the repubs is way up....theres no way they are going to have the 8% turnout edge this time around

This morning's rounds of "who's gonna win" trash talking left me extremely depressed. All kinds of polls were quoted and analyzed on both sides. Each side guaranteed their man would win. I've learned not to trust polls, like many of you. So it was when some posters started quoting the Vegas odds that I started getting worried. I can't see those bookmakers being wrong. I sent my friend the numbers on some of those websites. My friend, formerly very optimistic for a Romney win, replied:



I did remind my friend that the bet isn't whether Obama will "remain in power", but rather, whether he'll get 270 electoral votes. But still, the extreme negativity from a guy who just this morning was ready to declare Romney the winner is pretty disconcerting.

I know the libs see these Vegas odds as just another piece of evidence that their man will remain in office. My question to my fellow Romney supporters is: I'm having a hard time seeing how they're wrong, aren't you?

You do know how Vegas sets there odds right? Vegas does'nt pick winners and losers. Vegas will make money no matter what candidate is elected. They set the odds to get people to bet on the other side. Vegas had a lot of people bet for Obama so they had to increase the odds to get people to bet on Romney.

And nationally, Obama was still favored even before Christie's endorsement.

Liberals are also more fanatical, so I doubt they would not vote for their Messiah Obama just because of Christie. Highly doubt it.

And finally, 2012 election is important to liberals, but it's SUPER-IMPORTANT to Republicans who must prove to the country that they are still a viable, credible party.

So the stakes are higher for GOP here. And Christie endorsement may just swing enough "on the fence" votes in Ohio and Florida to Obama.

And he is a fool, because once Democrats are in power for another term, they will NOT allow another Republican to win Presidency for a long, long time.

The Country has moved to the right. Gallup and Rasmussen both show the electorate has shifted since 2008. The 2010 election wave of landslide Republican wins should have been the biggest clue, but the mainstream media ignores that bit of data.

The most interesting numbers from Gallup.

In 2008:
39% Democrat
29% Republican
31% Independent

2012:
36% Republican
35% Democrat
29% Independent

The independents are favoring Romney in all polls, so this looks like it going to be a long night for President Obama.

To further explain. Vegas makes money by taking a percentage of all betting. Lets say you have two football teams playing. For our example we will use Oregon versus Alabama. Lets say that Oregon fans are crazy and think their team is going to win so their fans go out and bet on Oregon early. This would cause the betting to become lopsided and force vegas to give better odds to Alabama just to get more people betting on Alabama even though Alabama is the better team.
