I agree. Not even worth listening to anymore. It's all business now, running 12-14 minutes worth of commercials every half hour, and those commercials are all high pressure, fast talking, irritating bullshit. Nothing that ANYONE would want to listen to.

As for the rest of the "show", it's mostly about pushing the guest's products like books, dvds, pills, therapies, speaking tours, etc. The rest of the show they use for filler mostly consists of fantasy fear-mongering to fuck with everyone's heads. Finding anything good on the show anymore is as rare as winning the lottery.

When John B. Wells first took over the Saturday slot regularly his shows were great. When he filled in a few weekdays, a month ago, the second day he said that the captain didn't want him to talk about politics or controversy. Since then he kind of lost his verve. Sad because I loved tuning in on Saturdays. Before he had passion now it's like he's just doing his job.

That's kind of...what's the word...chicken sh*t for Art to say that. It's akin to an ex-President commenting on what the current President is doing. Keep it to yourself, Art. Sheesh. The show really isn't much different with Noory than it was with Art...except for the interview style. But the content is pretty much the same.

But Art Bell created the show, it was his baby, his creation. He picked the person that at the time he felt was the best person to hand it over to.

I think that is the difference now, it seems like they are just phoning it in now. One reason I really liked John B Wells was that he still was in it, until he was deflated.

Mid 90's were the best. I used to work 6pm -3am ET and would get to listen to Art at work and while driving home. Loved the show then, and there had been nothing like it before that I knew of, at that time. People I worked with thought I was crazy for listening to him and always listened to some music.

Art knew how to interview and how to be dramatic. Just like the Internet, 90%of his show was bs, but he almost always let people,have their say and let the listener decide. Good times....

I so agree... I hardly every listen any more and both my hubby and I would listen ALL NIGHT or play the next day.

George like vampires, ghost and Green stuff.. he also has the same old people over and over again.

Not interested at all.



For me personally there's not enough doom related news on the show anymore. I usually listen to that Red Eye Radio show, Overnight America with Jon Grayson, or local sports talk here in NYC on WFAN.

And i really hate that emerging artist crap, most of it sounds like porn tracks anyways, no name sucks ass

Art was a one of a kind and whether you agree with him or not he was a master entertainer. Started listening in the early 90's and that was his best era. Mels hole was one of his best shows, the sounds of hell and Father Malachi Martin interviews were unforgetable. He could never be replaced. The rumor is he is not returning to radio because he wants to spend his time with his family.

I would love it if he returned but that may never happen.

This makes sense, I hadn't thought about that, but a lot of the callers recently have really had me wondering what was going on in the world.

At first I thought the emerging artist thing would be interesting, finding new music to check out, but sadly I have to agree, I tune out more than draw me in.

I just hope John B Wells gets his spark back, I hope they all get their spark back, it's a different show when the host is engaged, no matter what they are talking about.

I'm listening to the Art Bell Stream that was shared earlier in the thread, the show playing now is from when he was living out of the country a few years ago. The show is still engaging and fresh, he is in it, shares his thoughts and converses with the callers.

I love the Mel's Hole shows! And yes Father Malachi Martin shows were soooo good. Do you remember the show when they talked about his death being foul play? Was that Art or George? I can't remember, either way it was intriguing.

Its a pathetic version of what Art always wanted and i'm not going to lie, i do leave the radio on after Ground Zero and catch some of the C2C talk in between my sleep and even in my groggy state, i shake my head in disbelief.

Just assenine. I have no words!!! I'm in a position now where i dont like ANY of the hosts, much less Snoory.

John wells needs to take voice modulation lessons. He has a very loud voice that is unplesant to listen to so I am constantly turning the volume down when he speaks and up when I try to hear the guest.

It isn't worth the aggravation so I don't listen when W is on no matter how interested in the subject I am.

Yes, that did piss me off. However, i'm sure that Art, with time is now fully aware that it was what it was.
Also, Art always said, when the time came he could not speak freely about subjects he wanted to talk about and his freedom was gone, he would quit the show completely.
AND HE DID.

Art had spooks at his door in the middle of the night many times. He's not a dummy. He had to be careful.

I agree with most everyone here that Coast has become garbage.

However I enjoy John B Wells on the weekend, when I first heard his voice I wasn't sure what to make of it. But now that I listen to him regularly the more he reminds me of Art when I first started listening to him back in 1995.

I believe if John B had control and did 5 days a week Coast could return to the Greatness Coast once was.

This will not happen as George N will never give up control unless he is forced out.

So I encourage everyone who has ever love Coast in the past to call the show when John B is on and let him know how you feel. Eventually when the ratings get low enough, someone in their right mind will see the light.

Just my two cents.

Again I really enjoy everyones point of view here even when I dont agree I still enjoy reading different points of view.

John B. Wells is a good host on the weekends. Doesn't hold anything back.
