If Jesus Christ promises to answer prayer yet fails most of the time is His word reliable? | |
| Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 1348934 11/01/2012 10:13 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I guess what I am getting at is if Jesus fails me time and time again then is the Bible maybe corrupt in the first place... I mean if God Cannot Lie ... yet in all my experiance and knowledge if you make a promise yet do not deliver on that promise isn't that a LIE. So maybe some parts of the Bible are true and others made up? And if that is the case what parts can be trusted and what parts are lies? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1348934 Every word of the Bible is true. If you pray for something He explicitly promises to answer, and you do not experience the answer, then the enemy is blocking it, you are doubting it, or both. Or you have prayed for something and the answer is there yet you don't have the eyes to see it yet. My example: I prayed and asked the Lord for change in my life. Soon after, my father in law died, my husband and I were in a car accident with $7,000.00 damage and I had to put my two elderly dogs to sleep on the same day. Where's God...right? In my grief, I felt total anger at Him. Six months later I can say this....my father in law had been saved just prior to his passing and was 82 years old. He had two adult children using him for money on a constant basis. I believe the Lord took him for his relief and rest. My car was repaired thanks to the good insurance I had and was able to trade it in just a week ago for a brand new car with extended warranty. My two dogs grew up together, it was so much better that they went together rather than one be left behind in old age missing the other. God has been with me the whole time, yes, he answered my prayers, I am attacked by evil as well, and he protects me through it all. All this because I simply BELIEVE what is said in the Bible and then walk on, whether I have perfect answers or not. The Bible also says, "lean not on your own understanding". Don't always look for concrete evidence of God in the way YOU want it. He does it his way but he'll not forsake you! Well right now I sure do feel forsaken, disappointed, angry, etc... the one I was taught in the Bible that I could always trust is God ... Yet looking back on the many (and I mean MANY) un-answered prayers ... its like why even pray anymore... He has been so UN-Faithful to me in his promises ... I wish I had another testimony on my lips... but I do have to face the truth. ... I know Jesus Christ is Lord and proclaim him as such ... yet if he cant be faithful in the now and present ... then what about eternity? |

The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God. (John 10:33) Was Jesus a blasphemer?? No, he was simply ACCUSED of it. so not every word is true, that is just one example |

The Greek language was around, and when the apostles wrote the new testament, the Name they used was the Greek name Iesous. They didn't write the new testament in Hebrew, and they didn't put in the bible that you have to use a "Hebrew name" for Jesus, so what you are saying doesn't come from the bible. If it was mandatory to only use Hebrew when referring to Jesus, why are you using English? Why would the apostles write the new testament in Greek? Why would they write His Name in Greek as Iesous? You can make up your own rules like "you must call Jesus by a Hebrew name" if you want, but you can't expect other people to follow those rules, because they aren't in the bible. |

YOUR NAME IS HOLY. MAY YOUR REALM BE INCARNATE IN ME. MAY YOUR POWER REVEAL ITSELF WITHIN ME, ON EARTH AND IN THE HEAVEN. GIVE ME TODAY MY DAILY BREAD, AND THUS, LET ME RECOGNIZE MY TRANSGRESSIONS AND ERRORS, AND I SHALL RECOGNIZE THE TRUTH. AND DO NOT LEAD ME INTO TEMPTATION AND CONFUSION, BUT DELIVER ME FROM ERROR. FOR YOURS IS THE REALM WITHIN ME AND THE POWER AND THE KNOWLEDGE FOREVER, AMEN. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18526910 The letter J did not exist in ANY language until the 14th-15th century. So when you say "jesus" who the hell are you calling ? Wake up moran. Je'sus is actually a derivative of ZEUS (a demon), a "God" highly reverenced in the pagan society of the Greeks and the Romans. Christ was a Hebrew Israelite from the Tribe of Judah, so he spoke HEBREW. His function was the SAVIOR. Savior in Hebrew stems from YASHA. To make this Short, his name YASHAYAH. Now stop being ignorant and call on the name of the Messiah and SAVIOR, you didn't really think those in charge in this Earth would give you the real name of the Messiah did you? [In depth analysis below] to SAVE in the Hebrew stems from the word YASHA. *link* (put this in your browser) [link to www.blueletterbible.org] Now that we have the ROOT word for SAVE/deliver (Yasha) here is the name: YASHAYAH (this is how you would use the name in the SECOND person) Messiah came in the flesh TO SAVE and deliver his people from affliction and the hands of Satan. As for yahshua/yehoshua... None of those have the root word: SAVE (Yasha). You say all that, but you can't find any of those names you are using in the bible. Except Jesus, that name is in there. Those names? I used one name, YASHAYAH. You don't think Je'sus couldn't have put in their, just like Je'hovah (god of ruin, wickedness, mischief) ?? Are you really that simple? THE LETTER J WASN'T EVEN AROUND IN THAT TIME! Wake up simpleton. Probably he was not aware of the original Hebrew language of the bible (OT). While you said Yahshua/Yehoshua don't have the root word SAVE (YASHA = yod shin ayin = strong#03467), the bible translated YESHU'AH as SALVATION. Gen 49:18 I have waited for thy SALVATION (YESHU'AH = yod shin vav ayin heh = strong#03444), O LORD. |
