Re: If Jesus Christ promises to answer prayer yet fails most of the time is His word reliable?
I guess what I am getting at is if Jesus fails me time and time again then is the Bible maybe corrupt in the first place... I mean if God Cannot Lie ... yet in all my experiance and knowledge if you make a promise yet do not deliver on that promise isn't that a LIE. So maybe some parts of the Bible are true and others made up? And if that is the case what parts can be trusted and what parts are lies?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1348934

Every word of the Bible is true. If you pray for something He explicitly promises to answer, and you do not experience the answer, then the enemy is blocking it, you are doubting it, or both.
 Quoting: SoulWinner

Or you have prayed for something and the answer is there yet you don't have the eyes to see it yet. My example: I prayed and asked the Lord for change in my life. Soon after, my father in law died, my husband and I were in a car accident with $7,000.00 damage and I had to put my two elderly dogs to sleep on the same day. Where's God...right? In my grief, I felt total anger at Him. Six months later I can say this....my father in law had been saved just prior to his passing and was 82 years old. He had two adult children using him for money on a constant basis. I believe the Lord took him for his relief and rest. My car was repaired thanks to the good insurance I had and was able to trade it in just a week ago for a brand new car with extended warranty. My two dogs grew up together, it was so much better that they went together rather than one be left behind in old age missing the other. God has been with me the whole time, yes, he answered my prayers, I am attacked by evil as well, and he protects me through it all. All this because I simply BELIEVE what is said in the Bible and then walk on, whether I have perfect answers or not. The Bible also says, "lean not on your own understanding". Don't always look for concrete evidence of God in the way YOU want it. He does it his way but he'll not forsake you!
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21117247

Well right now I sure do feel forsaken, disappointed, angry, etc... the one I was taught in the Bible that I could always trust is God ... Yet looking back on the many (and I mean MANY) un-answered prayers ... its like why even pray anymore... He has been so UN-Faithful to me in his promises ... I wish I had another testimony on my lips... but I do have to face the truth. ... I know Jesus Christ is Lord and proclaim him as such ... yet if he cant be faithful in the now and present ... then what about eternity?

 Quoting: SoulWinner

No it isn't.

The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.
(John 10:33)

Was Jesus a blasphemer??
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26102938

No, he was simply ACCUSED of it.

so not every word is true, that is just one example

You're not even using the right name and you're complaining? LOL..

The letter J did not exist in ANY language until the 14th-15th century.

So when you say "jesus" who the hell are you calling ?

Wake up moran. Je'sus is actually a derivative of ZEUS (a demon), a "God" highly reverenced in the pagan society of the Greeks and the Romans.

Christ was a Hebrew Israelite from the Tribe of Judah, so he spoke HEBREW. His function was the SAVIOR.

Savior in Hebrew stems from YASHA.

To make this Short, his name YASHAYAH.

Now stop being ignorant and call on the name of the Messiah and SAVIOR, you didn't really think those in charge in this Earth would give you the real name of the Messiah did you?

[In depth analysis below]

to SAVE in the Hebrew stems from the word YASHA.

*link* (put this in your browser)
[link to www.blueletterbible.org]

Now that we have the ROOT word for SAVE/deliver (Yasha) here is the name:
YASHAYAH (this is how you would use the name in the SECOND person)

Messiah came in the flesh TO SAVE and deliver his people from affliction and the hands of Satan.

As for yahshua/yehoshua... None of those have the root word: SAVE (Yasha).
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18526910

You say all that, but you can't find any of those names you are using in the bible. Except Jesus, that name is in there.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26102938

Those names? I used one name, YASHAYAH.

You don't think Je'sus couldn't have put in their, just like Je'hovah (god of ruin, wickedness, mischief) ??

Are you really that simple? THE LETTER J WASN'T EVEN AROUND IN THAT TIME! Wake up simpleton.

Unfortunately I can't give any concrete info to you as I don't have any concrete examples from you about what may have been prayed for and not answered. I've occassionally (sp?) asked God to win the lottery, I have good intentions for the money. Do I believe God will give it to me? Yes...IF I truly believed it! But truthfully, I don't see me winning a few million. God can do it but again, it is connected to our faith, our intentions, and most importantly it will always and ultimately be God's will not ours. I will say a prayer for you tonight for God to reveal his presence in your life soon! Watch for him!!

you're probably praying for selfish things
Exalted is He from what they utter. Exalted is He from what they imagine. Exalted is He that exists without a place. Exalted is He that was there forever without a time or a beginning. Exalted is He that will be there forever without a time or an end. Exalted is He that will forever be praised. That is your God.

Neither was the English language around, so why are you using it???

The Greek language was around, and when the apostles wrote the new testament, the Name they used was the Greek name Iesous. They didn't write the new testament in Hebrew, and they didn't put in the bible that you have to use a "Hebrew name" for Jesus, so what you are saying doesn't come from the bible.

If it was mandatory to only use Hebrew when referring to Jesus, why are you using English? Why would the apostles write the new testament in Greek? Why would they write His Name in Greek as Iesous?

You can make up your own rules like "you must call Jesus by a Hebrew name" if you want, but you can't expect other people to follow those rules, because they aren't in the bible.

There was a few times where I had to expel some false spirits too. Worked instantly.

There was one time, the possession attempt was so strong I was having convulsions alone on the bed while filling my whole body being electrified. I asked for help like 3 to 5 subconsciously and then I got relieved.

And there was a time where I got a disease and got cured right after asking for help. It was immediate.

Oh man, at this point I feel like Im dependent. No, Im not. I really dont ask help unless I really need it.

If they were promised something yet never got it then Did not God LIE somewhere along the line? read it again A promise was made yet never fullfilled ... is this not considered a lie from the one whom made the promise?

I mean all through the Bible Jesus makes promises after promise to his followers yet if most Christians are honest to themselves their prayers land on deaf ears! A majority of the time pray is not answered ... Yet Jesus Says ask me for anything and I will do it. Are these just LIES? Does Jesus keep his word ... Many promises in the Bible ... but so far in my Christian walk it has just been broken promises and shattered dreams. So much for Jesus being faithful to his own words.

I'm not the one who posted above you, but from my experience I can say I understand deeply SOME of the bible, I sort of understand other parts, my husband totally gets other parts. The bible is the entire history of the relationship between God and mankind, and deeply layered with many, many lessons. We cannot take one section or verse and expect it to answer a very specific question. The answers lie throughout it, that is why we are encouraged to continually read the word of God, to continually have more revealed to us. Do you read the word regularly, pray over it, and make your needs known then thank in faith? Then walk on with living your life for HIM?

Jesus doesn't answer all the prayers, nor does god They are mostly answered when answered by guides and angels. Not all should be answered. People who pray for vanity rarely get those answered

YOu chrisitian walk is full of lies, beloved, now you understand that. Jesus did not start your religion, he gave truth and man made the bullshit.

Jesus administers 5.8 million planets and a lot of heaven worlds. Ponder that one.

The actual Lord's Prayer Given by Jesus 2000 years ago.

"MY SPIRIT, YOU ARE OMNIPOTENT. YOUR NAME IS HOLY. MAY YOUR REALM BE INCARNATE IN ME. MAY YOUR POWER REVEAL ITSELF WITHIN ME, ON EARTH AND IN THE HEAVEN. GIVE ME TODAY MY DAILY BREAD, AND THUS, LET ME RECOGNIZE MY TRANSGRESSIONS AND ERRORS, AND I SHALL RECOGNIZE THE TRUTH. AND DO NOT LEAD ME INTO TEMPTATION AND CONFUSION, BUT DELIVER ME FROM ERROR. FOR YOURS IS THE REALM WITHIN ME AND THE POWER AND THE KNOWLEDGE FOREVER,
AMEN.

No its not, lets wake up. Those people were ONE SMALL GROUP out of a populated world when Jesus came. Abraham and India had nuclear weapons and were using them. Lets grow up a little bit. MOSt of the bible is not accurate. It was not given by god, ever, its is mans book of what he thinks happenes. Not how it is.

Mankind existed long before those days on this planet. Adam and Eve came 38,000 years ago. Man has over populated his planet 5 times previously to now, and gone into the ocean during axis shifts because of the unbalance. The bible is a terribly poor history book.

Yet Jesus Says ask me for anything and I will do it. Are these just LIES?

Sure, he has never said that.

I only ask for wisdom and understanding and I feel like I got answered.

If God has given you wisdom then answer me this: Hebrews 11 speaks of the Might men/women of Faith but the verse that troubles me the most is Hebrews 11:39 "These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised" ... If they were promised something yet never got it then Did not God LIE somewhere along the line? read it again A promise was made yet never fullfilled ... is this not considered a lie from the one whom made the promise?

I'm not the one who posted above you, but from my experience I can say I understand deeply SOME of the bible, I sort of understand other parts, my husband totally gets other parts. The bible is the entire history of the relationship between God and mankind, and deeply layered with many, many lessons. We cannot take one section or verse and expect it to answer a very specific question. The answers lie throughout it, that is why we are encouraged to continually read the word of God, to continually have more revealed to us. Do you read the word regularly, pray over it, and make your needs known then thank in faith? Then walk on with living your life for HIM?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21117247

I hate to say this but I grew weary reading the Bible and applying to my life only to have God disappoint me time and time again. At one time in my life I was on fire for God then he by his lack of response and failures to answer prayer my fire smoldered to a bearly light ember ... I am sooooo disapointed with God & Jesus. I feel he has failed me and my family on so many levels I get sick to my stomach.

Already did ... please refer to page one of the thread:

From the Bible
John 14:12-14
12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father.14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.

Unless the Bible was tampered with its in there ... He will do it! 99.999% of the time of failing to do it I think that is called lying. I mean if I made a promise to my children yet failed to keep my word on that promise is that not lying?

OP read Walter Russell, it actually is about god. The bible is terrible. see my brief post above. Most of the most important teachings of Jesus were left out and the Roman church over time, made huge lies and corruptions in its "church" to control people. It is a book for the ignorant masses that keeps them ignorant of the ways of God.

Jesus did not put peter to head his church. That is a vatican lie. Much of everything you believe from your religion is a lie.

FOR YOURS IS THE REALM WITHIN ME AND THE POWER AND THE KNOWLEDGE FOREVER,
AMEN.

We play a part. We cant do Gods part and he cant do ours. This is true under obedience. Prayer meditation and fasting. Seeking God and aligning our heart to his. Having a true relationship with him.

Re: If Jesus Christ promises to answer prayer yet fails most of the time is His word reliable?

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18526910

Probably he was not aware of the original Hebrew language of the bible (OT).

While you said Yahshua/Yehoshua don't have the root word SAVE (YASHA = yod shin ayin = strong#03467), the bible translated YESHU'AH as SALVATION.

Gen 49:18 I have waited for thy SALVATION (YESHU'AH = yod shin vav ayin heh = strong#03444), O LORD.
