anonanon User ID: 4148733 United States 11/01/2012 10:22 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Worse yet....winter is coming and all those who have no homes or water soaked and broken homes will need shelter and all the necessities of life for many months to come. Feds should be taking closed military bases out of mothballs and allowing people to live in the base housing. The larger ones have everything the storm refugees would need such as a big kitchen and cafeteria, laundry facilities, store and space for schools. Better that than to be homeless in the northeast in the middle of winter. Most of the displaced will be unemployed because the businesses they worked for are also a wreck so they could have base jobs. Would go a long way to helping people out even if they have to leave the area for a while. |

All the stories are the same....they can only hide all this for so long.... There were WARNINGS for DAYS and DAYS that it would be like this. It's a little hard to get help in, with gas shortages, wreckage and destruction, people have to prepared to take care of themselves in disasters for AT LEAST 3 days, more safely would be 7-10 days. CANNOT depend on the government to be there immediately. They just cannot mobilize this quickly. We've seen it over and over. |
