Ok here's an idea, what if the friend who had passed was this very person. What if He was taken out for divulging information.

Say this guy was killed for talking about classified information and Steve waiting on an email from him got this instead.

What's disturbing to me about all of this is that these people, who also talk to each other, all share similar elements.

They ascribe to a proto-apocalyptic mindset representing themselves as being 'christian.'

They perceive themselves as responding to some kind of special calling from God. One woman is so special that she reports that the antichrist visited her personally in her backyard.

IMO there are no better candidates than these folks to be manipulated with disinfo than people who have their egos enfolded into obtaining special, secret information both from 'heaven' and from 'secret sources"

I'm sure they are all well meaning people, but be serious now. Who in their right mind, who actually did have highly classified information would entrust it to people like this?

They like to talk. They love to be interviewed and they make money being in the know.

I would expect that people who really knew things would first of all know the personality profiles of the people they were thinking of talking to.

SQ gets a couple of emails on a radio show and for Jeebus sake, the idiot reads them and comments while on the air.

As far as SQ's reaction to the death of dear friend, the reaction wouldn't have been so dramatic if he had expected the death, resulting from an illness. In this case, he seemed more shocked at the SUDDEN death of his friend. A real gutpunch if the possibilty involved assassination.
