Ascension is when one is able to transcend through life, jump in vibratory level, to reach nirvana WHILE in this life!
Archievement accomplished only by the great masters such as Buda, Jesus etc..

And by all means, animals are just as much in this ride as we do. We are all evolving in consciousness together. Heck, ive been a tree before!
