Wow, that looks like it would be a movie to keep your imagination going long after you leave the theatre!

It is :) ever want something so bad, but it never comes to fruition? There's a reason for that. Our lives lead us, we don't lead them. hf

Nonsense. Our choices in life determine who and where we are, and also where we will ultimately end up. God will always point out the best choice to make, but we can decline his advice, as we have free will. All humans have free will. They can be tempted, but they can never be forced to make a choice against their will.

Re: So I saw Cloud Atlas today...
Yet another shiny propaganda piece to keep people from loving the creator (God) by redirecting that love to his creation (a person). There is no such thing as a human 'soulmate'; God is your soulmate. Put your love and faith in God, not a person (including your child). God loves you far more than any person could or does, and he is working 24/7 for your benefit (even if you don't believe he exists).

Love humans carefully, knowing that their love is conditional and that humans are prone to betrayal. The only one you should give yourself 100% to is God. He will never betray you.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24279842

I'm so happy you found your soulmate! God belongs to a lot of hearts. If we all believed God was our soulmate, the world would be pretty boring.

Don't you ever desire to be free? I can tell you that it is possible to free your mind from all this. It's not easy but nothing worth having is. Remember that if you live your life based on a lie, on your deathbed you will no longer be able to avoid what you've done.

Yes, we have free will day to day. Ever look back in your life and see how it changed? I can't speak for you, but my life has definitely been guided at times.

I was married to a horrible man a decade ago, and it took a long time for me to see what kind of person he was. We tried to have a child for years, to no avail.

The last time we slept together, I got pregnant. The day I found out I was pregnant, I was booking a flight to go see my brother and to find a new life. I never booked that flight, and strangely enough, it was where my current husband lived at the time. Although, he is 10 years my junior, so we weren't meant to meet yet :)

I could go on and on, but while I make the choice to eat, go to a movie, have a pop tart, what happens in the moments between? Ever had a car accident on the way to somewhere? Ever cut yourself with a knife making dinner? I'm sure those things didn't happen on your intent. Free will exists so that we think we have control.

Thanks for making me connect with my deeper thoughts on this glorious Saturday morning :) :hf:

Re: So I saw Cloud Atlas today...
a little something for the Nay Sayers

People come into your life for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. When you figure out which one it is, you will know what to do for each person.

When someone is in your life for a REASON...It is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a Godsend and they are! They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part, or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. Sometimes they die. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. Your need has been answered, and now it is time to move on.

When people come into your life for a SEASON...It is because your turn has come to share, grow, or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it! It is real! But, only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons; things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person, and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

The only thing the Illuminati fears is an independent person who can live, eat, sleep, stay warm and defend themselves separate from Federal help. Pray that the Lord gives us more time! The End is near and time is short!

Did anyone else pick up on the emphasis of cannibalism? Definitely a movie I will watch a second time, and I'm sure I'll pick up things I might have missed, due to the multiple story lines.

Me too : ) I thought I would cry during the movie, but it didn't happen that way. I cried on the drive home, not because the movie told me how to feel.

I cried because it all made sense. I told my teenage son that there was a reason that seeing that one person meant something. They don't have to love you, hate you, or even meet you. How many of you have had a thunderbolt when seeing a stranger? I'll bet 100%. They are not always good, either.

Whether or not you believe, is up to you. :) I believe, and my life has been blissful and rough at the same time. hf

Re: So I saw Cloud Atlas today...
I liked the movie, but was a little disappointed. I had a different expectation. I would have liked for it to focus a little bit more on answering the question of why we come back over and over with the same people, like what lessons were learned, how did each soul evolve from each successive lifetime together? Maybe they did reveal that, but if they did I didn't get it. I also feel it was an Illuminati way to discourage ascension as they seemed to make it look like it is all pretty pointless, endless repetitious cycles of futility. I wanted it to be much more uplifting. Guess I'll have to write the screenplay myself, lol.

I feel like Inception was depressing in the same way, the illuminati letting you know they can even infiltrate your dreams with diabolical intentions. Anyway, just my opinion.

I'm wondering if it all reconciles in the book? I haven't read the book yet.

In the movie, Tom Hanks evolved from murderer/thief to murderer/accomplice to murderer, then murder by proxy, then murder by cowardace.

Why we come back is not the issue....its how we came back. Did we come back better or worse?

just some food for thought <3

Good point about the book, probably does resolve more, I had the feeling they couldn't fit it all in to the movie and that left some loose ends.

Op, I don't understand...Are you working for the movie industry or obsessed with dirt and cruelty?

I that movie is
1. depressing
2. not independent (you think a private person just shakes out 100 miliion from his back pocket???)
3. violent -full of cruelty, torture, blood and gore with no reason
4. disgusting.
5. Poorly made.

It seems I was not the only one appalled: I watched it for 45 minutes before decided to leave, but 6 people left the theater even before me.

I saw it too.

Its 3 hours long but its honestly flies by so fast. There's so much to get wrapped up in and so much going on.

Before you see it, you gotta know that it's literally like watching 6 movies simultaneously, with the same actors in each of the 6 films playing different characters...it can get a little confusing if you weren't ready for that.

But it's a great film. I saw this and Argo, and to be honest I like Cloud Atlas much more than Argo.

Its a really beautiful film. There's a really awesome moment at the end of the film, gives me chills even thinking about it. The people behind me in the theater were sobbing loudly for the last 15 minutes of the movie, like hysterically crying as if a relative died.

It's an amazing film and I think if you're even a little bit interested you should check it out.
