Crankgorilla User ID: 26901654 Australia 11/03/2012 04:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was just commenting on the weather due in tomorrow. We have a 36 degree day here in Adelaide. Thirty six! And it's not even Summer yet, Summer starts in December! I think it's to do with the sun. I used to spend a lot more time outdoors but the sun is noticeably hotter these days. You really burn hard in direct sunlight. You'd have be a fool to spend all day in the sun. I also think the weather forecasters or government is in on a conspiracy by fudging the forecast numbers, promising rain and cooler weather just around the corner. Which never comes. I mean, who would want to live in such a shitty climate? I'm seriously considering moving. I cannot handle another filthy hot summer like the one we had last year. Weeks of weather over 35 degrees celcius. Sometimes as hot as 48 degrees celcius. Add to that, high electricity and water costs, water restrictions and a world leading skin cancer tally, this state is fucked. They are fudging the numbers and the forecast. Because nobody in their right mind would voluntarily move here. Last Edited by Crankgorilla on 11/03/2012 04:02 AM |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26873825 land of droughts and flooding rains... heard that before? Land of the droughts and flooding rains. But nothing about widly flactuating temps though. We had snow on the coast only about a month ago. Snow on the coast in late spring??? I just cant remember that being normal. May be I not remembering rignt. I am only 41 but I have heard of early onset of senility. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26873825 42 years old and far from typical. Two years ago I had a fire going on Xmas day because it was 20*C (down from 40*C the day before). And a week later the same thing happened. Last summer many outback NSW towns did not have one day above 40*C throughout summer. We recently had two very wet years back to back (happened once before in 73/74). Winter this year has pretty much been from late April to November. So it is not typical. |

Lao Tzu User ID: 26877446 Australia 11/03/2012 07:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The wet years are still perfectly in pattern, but there should have only been 1 wet year in 2010, and not a follow up in 2011. The next big wet should be in 2030 (going by the patterns of the last 130 odd years). I do not have access to temperature records so I cannot be sure if they are really so unusual. |

I must say that in my 41 years I have never experienced weather changes like I have in the past year. To give you an idea. We have no town water where I am were rely on tanks. Over winter we had and extreemly dry period and I was forced to buy water cause I ran out, that used to be a rarity now it is a regular occurance. Then shortly after we had the one of the biggest down pour I have ever experienced down here. Roads were flooded that very rarely do. Just recently we had several days of sumer weather well over 30 deg C and very dry then over night the temps dropped off to 18 deg C. Somewhere in there we also had some realy dry strong winds. This all took place in less than a month. My fruit trees dont know weather to flower put out leaves or go dormant. I wonder who else may taken notice of strange weather changes in their neck of the wood. Sorry for your messed up weather. I hope to visit Australia someday. Looks like a beautiful country. |

It will take a while for the weather to settle down. I've noticed that the nights still have a chill in the air, where this time of year you can feel that warmth of summer coming. |
