(An Apache reservation) All the guys I roomed with, and met on the res, referred to themselves as American Indians. They all pretty much scoffed at the "Native American" phrase. They pretty much chalked that phrase up to political correctness. Just my experiences. |

It really doesn't matter in the scheme of things. I have good memories of my old American Indian/Native American roommates in the army. (Whichever term is used) They were fun guys to be around.
