And those in Ohio are bound to learn different.

There is the war on coal thing and Ohio is 88% powered by coal at the cheap price of $16 per megawatt.

In 2015 it changes to $357.00

Now just how in the fuck do you expect people to afford their electric bills?

Romney may be the antichrist and everything the press makes him out to be, but he likes coal. And if you like low cheap electricity you better get off your asses and vote for Romney.

back in the 60's and early 70's.
Republicans CREATED the EPA because of it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26753099

No, you keep working towards renewable clean energy. You don't fucking change somebodies electric bill from 250 a month to 1200 just because you want to force the issue.

It's greenheads like you in charge is why things are so fucked up. You have to have a viable cheap replacement in place before you change.

Both parties and both candidates are corrupt. Romney and Obama are both going to keep bailing out banks, continue QE and keep starting wars.

Romney's top campaign contributions:
Goldman Sachs $994,139
Bank of America $921,839
Morgan Stanley $827,255
JPMorgan Chase & Co $792,147
Credit Suisse Group $618,941
Wells Fargo $598,379

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 23011194

In southern Illinois, I've not seen one Obama or Romney sign. Missouri is full of Romney signs.
 Quoting: Top Hat

So what does THAT tell you? Remember Rural Illinois is always very conservative and some affluent Chicago suburbs are too...

But does that mean Illinois is going to Romney? Not a chance in heck.

Granted, Ohio is more of a Red state normally than Illinois BUT similar dynamic applies. Northen Ohio is kicking Romney's ass so far.

Now if Romney had the charm, the political skills & teflon quality of, say, Bill Clinton in his hey-day... if the Republican Party as whole was run by brilliant visionary strategists -- as opposed to Sarah Palin and Grover Norquist....

Then, I think GOP would win the Ohio even despite Obama's amazing Get-Out-the-Vote ground-game and trickery.

But Romney is not Clinton. Romney is Romney. A Wall-Street Mormon. Women can't relate. Hispanics can't relate. Auto-workers can't relate. Young people can't relate. Medicaid/Medicare/SS seniors can't relate.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26493902

Great analysis on both posts, AC.

But I argue, forget Ohio -- take NV, IA and we get a tie, get NH with them, a win.

This is assuming VA, NC, CO and FL go Romney, which I believe they will. They are not at issue.

He could even LOSE Ohio, Nevada, Iowa, but WIN WI and NH and still win.

I agree the Chrysler ads were completely stupid. The campaign has shown a penchant for jumping the gun and failing to properly vet attack ads.

He should have run a bunch of "Morning in America" ads touting bipartisanship, working with Democrats, over and over. He's already getting that message out NOW, which means SOMEONE in the campaign got a clue and realized an inclusive, UNITING, POSITIVE message is how you close a campaign. Might be too late.
 Quoting: Super Bowl Dave

There's no such thing as great partisan analysis. Especially when the partisanship leans "fucking commie traitor" as his clearly does. There was a time in this country when commie traitors went to prison. Now, we happily hear them out and put them in positions of power. Just terrible.

Again, for the Nth time: nobody is doubding the RURAL vote in Ohio.

What Romney is terrified of is Toledo, Cleveland, Northern Ohio.

He had another disasterous ad where he claimed that Obama put car industry in Chapter 11 and that Crysler is moving jobs to China via Italy. That may or may not be exactly true, but all the newspapers in Northern Ohio HAMMERED Romney for dishonesty.

All while leaping unearned praise on Obama for saving the country from Hurricane Sandy.

Notice the pattern? Obama lies, lies, lies about virtually everything, and he gets away with it. Romney tells even a Half-truth, and he is hammered by media.

Is it fair? No. Is it killing Romney in key toss-up precincts? Yes.

Remember a close election makes it MUCH easier for George Soros boys in Spain to steal.

After the triumpant 1st debate, it looked for a moment like Romney/Ryan ticket may run away with the Presidency. But then Joe Biden broad-sided Paul Ryan with dirty tricks and sheer old-man savvy --- and stopped the bleeding.

Since then, Romney really hasn't made any significant gains, arguably lost debates #2 and 3 on points, and his campaign commited several faux pas.

And then there was that Murdock moron in Indiana opening his vile trap during a debate

So Romney's ONLY hope now is the Angry Middle-Aged White Male. Now, there are still enough of those left to show up at a pro-Romney rally.

But the question is: are there enough A.M.A.W.M. that will show up on Tuesday and outvote the women, hispanics, blacks and the young people?

Granted, we're in a middle of the worst economic times since the Great Depression. Things aren't supposed to be easy and awesome like they were 5 years ago. An average recession takes up to 6 years to wash all the built-up inventory and deleverage, and this was a deeper than normal recession. Iran with nuclear ambition threatening to destabilize the critical oil region and if not stopped, will kick-start a regional nuclear race. That's a big challenge. Euro-zone trying to re-establish its identity and do something about Greece -- that too, is undoubtedly a challenge to be tackled by the brighest of minds.

BUT that said.... do you spoiled, sheltered, sky-is-falling PUSSIES who constantly whine "OMG it's all over but the fat Chris Christie singing"... ever listen to yourself?

Do you ever crack open history books? Every generation, certainly ever century through-out the last 3,000+ years has faced EXTREMELY tough circumstances --- and somehow found a way to overcome and progress, little by little.

And mind you, for most of history, an average life even during peace-time was MUCH harder than you spoiled cowards can even imagine. No political correctness; no democratic institutions; no welfare; no Internet; no Ipohone; no life-saving surgeries or devices; no modern pain-killers to take the edge off late-state cancer or chemo. Hardly enough bread and water, to survive. Even wealthy, influential aristocratic women routinely lost MULTIPLE babies in infancy and childhood. Husband routinely beat their wives. No Gloria Allred to run crying to.

And then they were plagues & droughts that used to wipe out 1/2 a countinent -- and you were lucky if you were put out of your misery early on, because survivors had a hell of a time trying to recover. And then there were WARS --- not like an Iraq War which foir most Americans really isn't a way but a glorified video game. But REAL fucking wars and village, massacres, pogroms raids by various warlords, dictators, khans, kings, et al. That affected EVERYBODY in a horrible way.

Hell, as recently as WW-2 and the Holocaust -- what a horrific meat-grinder WW-2 was for entire nations and ethnicities! Your grand-parents may clue you in if you really ask them nicely....

Not to mention, even during the unprecentedly prosperity & stability brought by the Modern era in the West... people in most 3rd world places, their life still pretty much sucks. And that's in the 21st century, mind you.

But things ALWYS got better in the longer-run. Because you can never under-estimate the human spirit, the human mind and its ability to bounce back from hardship and create, construct and progress!

So you self-centered, good-for-nothing poseur LOSERS who project their personal phobies & failures unto everything and everyone else... better come to grips with REALITY and get over yourselves and your dooms-day conspiracist nonsense.

Freaks.

Every generation, certainly every century through-out the last 3,000+ years has faced EXTREMELY tough circumstances --- and somehow found a way to overcome and progress, little by little.

And mind you, for most of history, an average life even during peace-time was MUCH harder than you spoiled cowards can even imagine. No political correctness; no democratic institutions; no welfare; no Internet; no Iphone; no Hollyood; no life-saving surgeries or devices; no modern pain-killers to take the edge off late-state cancer or chemo. Hardly enough bread and water, to just barely survive. Everybody malnourish, everybody dirty, tired, smelly, angry. Even wealthy, influential aristocratic women routinely lost MULTIPLE babies in infancy and childhood. Husband routinely beat their wives. No Gloria Allred to run crying to.

And then they were plagues & droughts that used to wipe out 1/2 a continent -- and you were lucky if you were put out of your misery early on, because survivors had a hell of a time trying to recover. Between the Liberal and phony "Libertarians" whining about everythinbg, all the time... taking the awesome Superpower like America and its accomplishments for the last 100 years for granted.... I don't know who is more silly and pathetic.

No wonder Obama is counting on Liberals to swarm the polling places... and on Ron Paul tards to NOT vote for Romney and give Obama the victory.

Sometimes I think Ron Paul is the best Democratic inflitrator operative Obama could ever invent. LOL

It's amazing isn't it?

Considering:

-all the resources Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Venezuela thrown behind Obama
-all the MSM shillery for Obama over and beyond their usual M.O.
-all the FAKE "deals" Obama tried to strike right before election with Iran
-the Hurricane Sandy
-all the harm both the Tea Party and Ron Paul did to undermine Mitt Romney
-Mitt Romney's lack of charisma & charm to make younger women voters wet themselves
-the 100's of millions of dollars in character assissination by Obama in Ohio
-Chris Christie, Colin Powell, Michael Bloomberg last-minute betrayal
-Romney's Mormon faith

....that Mitt Romney is THIS close to winning the election!!!

Wow if Mittens can pull it off. Just wow.
